Stayed here Aug 15-17th 2008 with my 8 year old daughter. This was her first trip to Paris and I wanted a hotel with some local flavor.

Owners and staff are very helpful, rooms are clean and atmosphere is lovely. Excellent location to the metro, Eiffel Tower and Rue Cler restaurants. Room was very quiet (a rarity in a large city) and I hear little street noise even though our room was facing the street.

The breakfast included is perfect - my daughter loved dipping her croissant in her chocolat chaud and tasting the jams. Her favorite is the kiwi! I like that they allow use of the fridge and provide utensils and plates for any meals you might bring back to the hotel.

I did not have my laptop but wifi was available to those who did. I did use the central computer in the breakfast area for 1Euro every 15 minutes. Great to check in and a fast connection.

My only concern was in the bathroom - the shower door does not meet the wall, leaving a 2 inch gap. This leads to a great deal of spray leaking out onto the floor and indeed causing water damage. I was in room 50.

We stayed at this delightful hotel for 2 nights on 31 July 08. Our room was large enough, the beds and pillows were quite comfy and our room was serviced daily. Hotel Valadon had a homely feel to it, which we liked. The owners' friendly dog greets you for breakfast too. For breakfast, we had numerous choices of hot beverages, a fresh croissant and a bread roll with homemade jams and fresh juice. If you are still hungry, there is a supermarket about 60 seconds from the hotel, which also sells beer and wine. A fruit market is also close by. Hotel Valadon is in a great area - It's on a quiet and safe street, there is a selection of wonderful, reasonably priced restaurants, cafes and shops right around the corner. We got the feeling that we were hanging out with the locals in a charming area of Paris. The Metro is a 2 minute walk from the Hotel and will have you at the popular tourist stops within 10 - 15 minutes. A bank/ATM is also close by. Basically, everything is at your doorstep, what more could you want. I would definitely stay here again.

The Hotel Valadon is fabulous. Stayed two nights (not long enought!) in December, 2007 and only just realised I hadn't written a review of the hotel.

I booked the hotel directly and paid $100 Euros (cash) for a room with king bed, ensuite and lovely view over the street.

The bed in our room is the comfiest bed I've ever slept in - it was like a cloud. The room itself is very simple - bed, bed side tables, full length mirror and ottoman. Small desk and tv mounted on the wall. The colors and furnishings are very stylish and make excellent use of the space - the room is small but very comfy.

Breakfasts are lovely - croissant, juice, coffee all served in the naturaly lit breakfast room.

The hotel has a small 'honesty fridge' in the lobby - put in 2 Euro in the box and take a can of coke or a beer, etc. I loved this. It was a nice touch and faith put in their guests.

The hotel also has a nice selection of books and brochures available and the owners were always so helpful with recommendations, directions, etc.

The location of the hotel is perfect for exploring the 7th and the Eiffel Tower, but you do need to catch the Metro to Sacre Coure or the Moulin Rouge - but Montmatre is fair distance away from the centre anyway.

We walked from the hotel to the Eiffel Tower, up to the Arc De Triomphe, down the Champs Elysse (sp?), the Louvre and back to the hotel. This took a few hours, give or take an hour or two for stopping.

Overall - a fabulous little boutique hotel that is big enough for privacy, but small enough to make it special. Fabulous location near Rue Cler markets and restaurants.

I would definetly stay there again!!!

Stayed at this hotel for a week in May with my 9-year old son.
We were given a room with a partial view of the Eiffel Tower.
I must say that we both loved this little hotel. The rooms are superb - they have everything you need, with great showers and
amazingly comfortable beds. Breakfast is a treat with Victor's home-made jam - my son insisted on bringing some home as he loved it so much! And yes Othello is adorable, but Victor and Marie do try to discourage feeding Othello to keep him healthy!
The location of the hotel couldn't be better - it is a short walk to the metro, and to the Seine, and also to lots of wonderful food shops. There is a very warm feeling to the hotel, and it did feel like coming home each day - Victor and Marie are there with any information you need - they will look up things on the internet for you and there is a small library of books for guests to borrow and read, including many guide books on Paris.
I have been to Paris many times over the years, and this has been my best hotel experience.
The little Valadon is everything you need for a real authentic Parisian experience - book early because they are often booked up months in advance!
Thank you Valadon for a fantastic week - hope to see you next year for the French Open!

In general, the location was awesome and Victor and his wife were pleasant and served us a nice warm crouisant breakfast, however, we were put into the room in the middle of the patio, that is underground. It was noisy, had a moldy smell, and was very inconvenient. So, I guess if you are going to book a hotel room here, request not to be in this room, which is stand alone in the middle of the courtyard. Loved, the wine for 5 Euros and the proximity to the Eifel tower. According to our experience, this hotel is way over ranked.
