Our family of four, two adults two teenagers stayed in the lovely family cottage for three days in June. The set up was perfect for our family because it offered privacy for the adults and a HUGE bathroom for the family. It was basically two full baths and that was a big plus. Although there is not air conditioning, and it was hot in Paris, our room was always cool. We absolutely adored the neighborhood and there are tons of fabulous restraunts just around the corner. Victor was a wonderful host, very helpful and enjoyed talking to the teenagers. We are a poitically conservative Texan family and we found Victor charming and had no problems with politics. The breakfast was great and I would definetly stay at this hotel again.

Our family, consisting of two adults and two children, booked the family cottage at the Hotel Valadon after reading the reviews of the hotel. We were not disappointed. We stayed there after 3 weeks of travelling through France, and this was the icing on our cake. The hosts, Victor and Maria, were amazing. Through them, we were able to arrange for a babysitter for our two children so that we were able to go grab a quick dinner in the neighbourhood alone. The family cottage was great - basically two rooms just off the dining area, connected by a sub-terranean hallway, tons of space, clean and bright, laminate wood flooring, so no old tattered carpets. We loved it.

The location of the hotel is wonderful, and the breakfasts delicious, although I could see how if one stayed for a longer time would get quite boring. It was a joy, however, to be able to have a couple of cups of coffee at breakfast...lovely.

We can't imagine staying anywhere else in Paris after this amazing experience.

After searching Paris accomodation through trip advisor we decided on the Valadon, What a find. The rooms are larger than most hotel rooms in this fantastic city, and have everything a traveller needs. Maria & Victor have years in the hotel business and it shows. The beds are really comfortable, the pillows large and fluffy. Great doonas. The bathroom is fully stocked, excellent showers and beautiful towels.Breakfast is served down stairs and is really fresh with superb coffee. Othello is usually on hand to wish you good morningand makes travellers missing their own dog a little happier.Victor and Maria make a point of speaking with every table, finding out what you are doing for the day and offering valuable advice.There is asmall fridge in reception with bottled water and wine available on an honour system. Great idea.The hotel is surrounded by cafes and bistros, and is in a safe local neighbourhood. There is a laundromat on the corner, really handy.The closeness to the Eiffel Tower is fabulous, we walked there every night after dinner.Many thanks to Maria, Victor and Othello for a wonderful stay.

We booked a three-night stay at the Valadon in January 2008, having read the TripAdvisor reviews.

We arrived at the hotel rather later than expected because of air traffic delays, followed by our getting stuck in the Parisian rush-hour traffic. However, one of M. and Mme. Orsenne's daughters was waiting at the hotel to greet us and let us in. The room, while not especially large, was clean, comfortable and perfectly adequate for our needs. (We've stayed in smaller hotel rooms in London and Barcelona.) If you're out and about all day, as we were, who cares if the room isn't palatial, provided it's clean and safe?

We met M. Orsenne (and Othello) at breakfast the next day. We were the only non-American guests in the hotel. All were made welcome by M. Orsenne, or so it appeared to us, and nobody was forced into conversation. If you wanted to be left alone, you were. The American guests seemed perfectly happy to chat to M. Orsenne (and us) and there was no "bad atmosphere".

In the surrounding area were plenty of restaurants, cafes and food shops, so no danger of going hungry while looking for something to eat. The local patisserie and chocolate shops do nothing for your waistline, though...

We concur with the majority opinion of TripAdvisor reviewers: the Valadon is a very nice place to stay, and we would have no hesitation in booking another stay on our next visit to Paris.
