We stayed here for an night, maximizing an 18 hour layover in Paris. Booking a room based on reviews in Trip Advisor, we found Hotel Valadon was exactly what we expected it to be...clean, comfortable, well located and appropriately priced. We give Hotel Valadon an excellent rating because for a 2 star hotel the service was superior. The owner emailed us that, at our request, he had booked a cab to drive us to CDG Airport to catch our extremely early morning flight home. The cab was waiting... We were thankful and relieved. The second experience was the hotel owner's recommendation for a restaurant. He question us carefully as to what we would enjoy and made reservations for us at LE FLORIMOND which is situated just off of Rue Cler, about 2 blocks from the hotel. His recommendation was perfect. We had a marvelous meal. We would return to both Hotel Valadon and Le Florimond. Kudos to Victor for his care and professionalism.

By the way, we were on the 2nd floor facing the street. We kept the windows open and there was no loud street noise. Very quiet location.

My wife and I booked our reservation with Hotel Valadon based on its good location and reviews from fellow travelers on Trip Advisor. We found the reviews to be right on in regards to the amenities and the hospitality of the owners, Maria and Victor. The rooms are nicely appointed and very comfortable. We felt right at home. Maria and Victor went out of their way to make us feel at home and to help us with whatever our needs might be. We will definitely book another stay at Hotel Valadon when we visit Paris again.

  • Liked — The hospitality of the owners.
  • Disliked — Bathroom was a little small.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Valadon for three nights. This hotel is in an ideal location. The location was nice due to the proximity of the Eiffel Tower, metro stops, cafes on Rue Cler, and grocery stores. We booked online directly at www.hotelvaladon.com. The hotel was 125 euros per night for a double. We stayed in room #20. Our room was nice (looked identical to pictures), good size, and had a nice bathroom. The owners spoke perfect English. They were very friendly (greeted us every morning for breakfast) and even meet us at the hotel after hours (10:30 p.m.) to check us in since we had a late flight. The breakfast was included in our room rate and consisted of juice, tea, coffee; a croissant and bread; and delicious homemade jams (three flavors). This was the most limited breakfast selection-wise during our two and a half weeks in Europe. The hotel has a computer with Internet, but there was a charge. My husband brought his iPod touch and found a wireless signal, so we just used that for free. There are minimal outlets in the room. There were no outlets in the bathroom or by the nightstands. This made it very difficult to charge our electronics. The hairdryer was disappointing.

Recommendations:

We HIGHLY recommend eating at Le Café du Marche on Rue Cler. We ate there our first night and liked it so much that we ate there all three nights! The food/desserts were fantastic and the bread and tap water were included. The price was great (10 euros for a plate) and the service was excellent. The servers spoke great English and the café even had an English menu. It is also the busiest cafe on Rue Cler.

We hired Parishuttle (made reservations online before we left) to get from the airport to our hotel. It was 19 euro per person, each way.

We recommend purchasing and reading Rick Steves’ book on Paris before you go.

Buy a Street Smart map for Paris.

Versailles and Marie Antoinette's Estate are a must!! It’s beautiful!

When walking down Champs-Elyees make sure to stop by Laduree, a chocolate shop, to indulge in the beautiful desserts.

This hotel was a great find,as you won't find it on the major hotel search websites. We booked direct with the owners who speak excellent English and were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel is very well priced,in a great location, and the rooms are surprisingly spacious and nicely decorated. If,like me, you are fussy and like a proper feather pillow then you have come to the right place as the pillows and duvets are feather which is bliss. The bathrooms are a bit small but really nicely done out.

It is only ten minutes walk from the Eiffel Tower, and the same from the Invalides, and at the end of the road from Rue Cler which is a lovely area with lots of bars and bistros. The tube is 5 minutes away and there are two supermarkets within 2 minutes walk.

It is easy to get to the Arc de Triumph (and the AirFrance shuttle bus)on the no.92 bus and only 15 minutes walk to the boats on the Seine.

The inclusive breakfast could be more substantial, but the home-made jam is fab.As Paris is generally very expensive, it is brilliant that you are allowed to bring food back to 'picnic' on and there is a fridge provided for guests so you can store your food and drink, this saved us a packet!

The owners are very helpful with planning days out and travel, and we were able to leave our cases in a safe place for a late night flight so we didn't have to drag them around all day.

I only saw this hotel on the TripAdvisor site and booked on the recommendations I saw, so was very glad that people had taken the time to review it.

  • Liked — Feather pillows!Good size room for location, and trendy decor.
  • Disliked — Small bathroom with overly bright lighting.

I have always followed T/A's recommendations and Hotel Valadon was no exception. The charming hotel is just as all others have stated. We had a three person room, quite roomy and bathroom very nicely done. Take our advice and stay here!!! Not only is the Rue Cler close and enjoyable, the metro is 5 minutes away and in the area of some lovely, delicious outdoor cafes. Victor and Maria, we will definitely be back!!Thanks
