From the very friendly caring welcome, to the equally attentive attention when checking out there was not a bad word to say about our stay. We loved every minute of it.
We stayed in a junior suite, which was spacious and well laid out, the bathroom was a joy and the large balcony would a treat we will enjoy when we come back again when the the weather is warmer!
The bar had a large realistic looking log fire in a separate lounging area, the lift was all you imagine a lift should look like in France, small, metal caged in centre of spiral staircase.
We arrived late due to Eurostar problems starving hungry just before the restaurant was due to close, we had been in our room just long enough to remove our coats and freshen up when the phone rang with the concierge telling us there was a table for two ready for us in the restaurant if we needed it. We hadn't asked to book it, it was a lovely attention to detail.
The food was excellent, a bit pricey but so good it took the sting out of pocket denting.
The chocolates waiting on the bed, the card with a personal message to greet us, complete with a fresh white rose, a music system, coffee machine in room, good spacious lay out.
The wi-fi was free, which is a pleasant surprise, although I had to keep relogging into it if I had not accessed it for a while, it would have been nice if it had remembered my device.
We didn't get to try the spa or the gym, maybe next time...
In summing up, the staff were all French, not all fluent in English (which was a joy as we got to practise some of our terrible French) and all very friendly, without exception, perfect location - you won't come away feeling you unsatisfied, but you do get a feeling for the culture rather than a clinical westernised hotel clone. Nothing unclean or not properly working in the room, 5 out of 5.
Mr and Mrs Hills.
Room Tip: Junior Suite was very good.
