We selected this hotel based on Tripadvisor reviews and, as usual, the reviews were accurate and we were quite pleased. We spent 4 nights there in April to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary, and it turned out to be the ideal romantic getaway hotel. We wanted to be in the St Germain or Luxumbourg Garden area, and this location was perfect. From the hotel you have a 2km walk to Notre Dame Cathedral, 500 meters to two different Metro lines, and you are across the street from the most beautiful park in Paris. Also, you are just 1 long block from Place St Sulpice, which is handy for a quick café stop or meal. This part of the city is very safe, and not very touristy. The hotel is on a quieter street, a couple of blocks either way to busier streets and intersections. We followed the advice from other reviews and took an upgraded room to get a bit more space, and even this room was not very large, but it was adequate space for a large city hotel, beautifully appointed and immaculately clean. The service level of the front desk is very high, and the people are as friendly and helpful as any place we’ve ever stayed. Fabienne, the hotel manager, is a real gem, and the front desk staff, Christian, Cecelia and Flora were outstanding. Our best dinner during our stay was just 3 blocks west at the Maison de Jardin. Gourmet French food and wine for a very reasonable price. There were no issues with the free wifi, and I used the very comfortable library/lounge daily. I was impressed with the workout room for such a small hotel. As noted in other reviews, the breakfast is underwhelming for the high cost, and you are better off at any number of café’s at Place St Sulpice or just a block or two west on Rue de Vaugirard. We will head straight back to the Hôtel Luxembourg Parc for our next visit to Paris.
