Our third stay was again very nice. Concierge was very helpful with reservations, elect. converter, directions. Breakfast (included) still best coffee and pastries available. Pastries overflow the basket. Room was nicely appointed. We did see a few signs that the hotel is suffering a bit from the general malaise of the French economy. The lovely little bar near the lobby is sadly closed with the liquor cabinet filled with empty bottles.

My husband and I just ended our honeymoon with a stay at this hotel. For a first-time experience in Paris, this was an ideal location. The hotel is on a hidden side street right in the heart of things (I'm not ashamed as a first time visitor to Paris to have wanted to see all the "touristy" attractions) and made it so easy to walk almost everywhere! It's right off the Champs Elysees, and within a very short walking distance of the Eiffel Tower. We were able to walk easily to the Arc de Triomphe, the Musee Rodin, the Musee d'Orsay, the Louvre, and a myriad of fantastic restaurants and cafes. It was a bit longer a hike to see Notre Dame, Sainte Chapelle and the Latin quarter ... but we still easily walked to these sites by walking along the Seine. By cab or by metro, it would take zero time at all. It was so beautiful to walk back to the hotel at night and see the Eiffel shimmering with lights.

In terms of the hotel itself, the pros were as follows: the lovely, helpful and friendly staff (they were SO warm &helpful--and I quickly felt comfortable despite my poor handle on the French language because they all were quick to speak English to us), the fantastic breakfast with it's wide array of choices (Nutella with baguette was my heaven) and the location being so central to everything. In terms of cons, our room reeked of very old and stale cigarette smoke, despite it being a non-smoking room. We stayed in 405, and I'm not sure if perhaps years ago it was a smoking room. Luckily, I am not sensitive to it ... but if my sister who has chronic asthma had been traveling with me, then she would have wound up with breathing issues--so my advice would be to ask about your room and it's smoking history when booking. Just because it's labeled "no smoking" now doesn't mean it doesn't have an extremely long history of it. Other than that, no complaints. We really enjoyed our stay and were so grateful to the staff for the great service. ***Tip for those flying in ... the hotel can arrange for a shuttle service to take you to and from the airport for a flat rate (whereas reserving a taxi can result in higher fares). It cost us about $65 Euros and was absolutely worth it for the peace of mind and not having to find the shuttle stop that is a few blocks away with all our luggage in tow).

We stayed 7 nights on a return visit to the hotel. The hotel is ideally located within walking distance of most major Paris sites. We had a 5th floor room with a balcony facing the front street. The side street location is fairly quiet. The room was compact, but nicely decorated. The reception staff spoke excellent English and were exceptionally helpful during our stay. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast each morning and the cheerful lady who oversees the breakfast room. We would highly recommend this hotel for the location, great service and fine value in expensive Paris.

You are only 10 minutes walk to the Arc, easy walk to the Metro and all other places.
The staff are excellent in providing all information about tours, cafe's and restaurants very close by. You just walk around the corner to find one of the best views of the tower.
The breakfast area was a little cramped but very nice and acceptable.

Only complaint was there was no a/c during the night and there was some construction going on.

Stayed for 9 nights in September. The location in the golden triangle was perfect. The room size was good with a great buffet breakfast and the staff was ready to assist. Now, the negatives...The golden triangle seems to have much construction causing early morning noise from the building across the street as well as the Plaza Athenee hotel. The room was not 4 star quality due to the following...plastic bathroom cups that were never replaced, disposable paper face clothes, TV with terrible reception in many rooms ( I know that because I asked other guests at breakfast ), water stains under aged wallpaper, wool blanket on bed that looked like it was left over from World War II, worn and dated drapes and tablecloth, a king bed that was really two twin beds pushed together, and a hair dryer not produced in decades. All that and then the noise...the sound of rolling luggage, slamming doors and dresser drawers, noise from very early morning cleaning cart and don't forget the construction!

We enjoyed our 4 nights at this hotel and the deluxe room. It is located close to the Seine, shopping, Champs Elysees activities. A special "thank you" to Alicia who was the hostess at breakfast every morning (included in our rate) who epitomized "outstanding customer service" with her friendly assistance making us feel comfortable each morning.
