“Great stay!”

Safe hostel, lovely location close to Moulin Rouge, Sacre Coeur and Gare Du Nord. Rooms and washrooms were super clean! Our favourite hostel on the trip. SO clean, friendly and centrally located. We even tried to come back but it was booked, c'est la vie!! Private rooms are well worth the extra if you're a couple travelling.

I have no complaints about this place! The rooms are so clean, the washrooms were cleaned everyday, the kitchen was convenient, the location was unbeatable, and I met some amazing people while I was there. The staff was also always so pleasant and helpful. If I come back to Paris, I will definitely be staying here!

My 12 year old daughter and I have just returned from a 3 night stay in a private en-suite room at Smart Place. It was a pleasant surprise. The location was fabulous. Spitting distance from the Gare Du Nord, near to some mini-marts and the metro.
Our room, whilst a wee bit cramped, was clean, had a tv (not that it was used) and comfy beds with crisp, white bedlinen.
The small bathroom was also clean, with good quality towels and a few toiletries. The shower was great, with plentiful hot water with good pressure (and not a dribble of tepid water like other places we have stayed at!).
WiFi was free and pretty fast.
The communal area had kitchen facilities, free tea and coffee and some seating/tables and table football. The other guests were a real mix of ages, so this was somewhere families could come without fear of it being a 'party hostel'.
The staff were welcoming and very helpful. There were lockers and a secure baggage storage cupboard with ticketing system. In fact, all round security was great.
The only slight downer was how hot our room got at night. Bearing in mind we visited in April, albeit during a mid-20's heatwave, it got pretty stuffy in our room. We had to sleep with the large casement window open, which allowed noise to filter in. Small gripe, but i think in the peak summer months it may get unbearable unless a/c or fans are offered.
Would recommend this place to friends.

Stayed here last April 1 to April 5 on the 5th floor.
I was searching for a budget place for 4 people. Have a laundry. And good reviews on Tripadvisor.
I am so happy to find Smart Place Paris.

The room. Was small. There were two bunk beds. The bathroom was, for a hostel, a decent size! Bathroom was clean, water pressure was good and with good hot water temperature.
There were 4 multicolored lockers. My only problem was the receptacle for your padlock. It was not that receptive to most padlocks. You need a padlock with a thin shank to fit into it.
Beds were comfortable. They gave us two white linens and a blanket per bed.
Towels are NOT included. You have to rent it for 1 euro. However, I was lucky. They left towels with the linens! When I went to inquire at the desk, they did confirm that towels are not included; however, I was free to use them since they were already left in the room.
Wifi- wifi is free. There are two computers at the lobby where you can rent them. But if you have your own device, wifi, repeat, is free.
We were able to stream video up on the 5th floor. So connection speed must be very good.
There was a small balcony with two plastic chairs overlooking the street.
Room was cleaned everyday.
There is a small but cute elevator that can hold 3 people without luggage (tight) or 2 comfortably, or one with luggae. Spiral staircase for those willing to walk.

The front desk- the most important was the people behind the desk. Awesome! Very helpful! Did not meet a grumpy one at all!
The kitchen is right next to the common area. You can cook in the kitchen. Just wash whatever you used. There is a fridge with small labels that you can use to label your foodstuff, your room no. and your checkout date. It seems safe as I have not lost anything there. I found the kitchen very useful since you can buy foodstuff at the nearby monoprix or the convenience store right across the street.
They have a left luggage area for those who arrive too early to check in or for those who have to check out but cannot leave Paris yet.
Around the area- Gare du Nord, the central train station, is just a 5 minute walk. Within 5 minutes of every direction, you can finda monoprix supermarket, 2 pharmacies, several restaurants (especially across Gare Du Nord). Within walking distance of Sacre Coeur, if you are willing to walk. There is a nice bakery to the right as you exit at the end of the block. Really good bread!

Laundry- They have a self service laundry. 8 euros for a load. That includes the laundry soap. For the drying, if after a cycle, your clothes are not yet dry, you can ask for another coin and they will give it to you.
A/C- there is no A/C at SPP. From my talk with a staff member, SPP is planning to place A/C within this or next year. Would be hot in summer
Would I go back to SPP? Absolutely! Great for those on a budget but want to see an expensive city.

Room Tip: get the top floors if possible.

I'm in love with this hotel.
To be honest, within a student's budget, near the train station, friendly reception, neat & clean rooms & washrooms, wifi, room heatig, daily services, secured entrance & card swiping room lock, stuffed common kitchen & so on were in my observation. If I go to Paris again, I'll choose smart Place.
Thank you very much for every cooperation.
I can't stop myself to rate this maximum points.

Very lively place where you can meet so many like minded fun loving people. Close to metro station and many major tourist attractions. You can find many many good restaurants in close vicinity. Wifi is good. Rooms are clean and in good condition. Staff is a group of young very friendly people. Loved the place and overall good deal for money.
