“It is a beautiful bridge, take a picture, keep moving.”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 22, 2014 via mobile

Take a picture, keep moving to other museums. It is a beautiful and historical bridge. As one walks around Paris, one will eventually pass this bridge. So, do not make special plans just to come to the bridge.

Recommended five to ten minutes for this attraction.

“simply great!”

We have been walking around the Seine river many many times over, it is most beautiful river I have ever seen. Specially the bridges, all kinds of bridges with different shapes, I enjoyed them so much.

“Bridge over troubled waters”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

Without doubt, it is the most majestically ornate bridge in the whole of France. It was built towards the end of the 19th Cent. to mark the entente between France and Russia (initiated by Czar Alexander lll) that forced the entry of both France and Britain into WWl, and was completed in time for the Great Exhibition of 1900. Connecting the Grand and Petit Palais on the Right Bank with Les Invalides on the left, it boasts 4 large pillars crowned by gilt sculpture symbolizing the Fame of the Sciences, Arts, Industry and Commerce. At their bases are impressive stone sculptures depicting 4 Ages of French History: Renaissance, Contemporary, Charlemagne and Louis XlV. Symbolizing the entente, part of the coat of arms of Paris with two nymphs representing the Seine face the Eiffel Tower from the central span, while on the other side, the Russian coat of arms bears two nymphs representing the River Neva. As a quid pro quo, a similar bridge to mark the entente was constructed in St Petersburg (Trinity Bridge) by no less an architect than the great Gustave Eiffel himself.

“A pretty bridge”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2014

It's a bridge at the end of the day. Much prettier and more intricately designed than your average bridge. But still just a bridge. It serves it's purpose of getting you from one side of the river, to the other.
I wouldn't call it an "attraction", and I wouldn't go out of my way to see it. But if you're in the area, it's worth a very quick look.
