When booking this hotel I was abit nervous after reading reviews on it.. But I must say I was surprised!! Got there at 11 and considering check in is at 3 , our room was ready so was aloud to go up 4 hours early which was very nice! The rooms are average , no complaints though, staff also very friendly!! Also... Currently writing this review in the hotel on their FREE wifi!!! Very happy :)

The hotel was cheap and basic but also clean and the staff were very helpful.

We were visiting friends in Paris and the staff had no issues with the socialising with us in our room.

We also had late return flights and had plans in the day so we're offered safe storage for our bags after checking out of our room.

The hotel is in an excellent location, not far from Gard du Nord which takes you to Charles De Gaulle airport. It is also close the the Pitfalls metro line and the Moulin Rouge.

The room was cleaned every day though we didn't get fresh towels. All our valuables and belongings were fine being left in our room. Nothing was taken.

The shower's temperature fluctuates between hot and cold but not a big issue to complain about.

Overall, if you're looking for something cheap but reliable, this place is not bad.

This was my first time in Paris, obvious last. The entire place is old, and smells of urine. Maybe my bad experience started at our hotel.
The hotel Migny Opera, what an experience this was. We got a hotwire rate on this place, they said it was 3 star, wow are they confused. From the onset, we feel like we were being watched, and I don’t like how you have to leave your room key at the hotel desk. The staff is very confrontational and got mad at us when we had our friend(Paris resident) come over to our room to hang out with us. They would have daily discussions with us after initially telling us this was allowed.
Either way, the showers are dirty with mold and mildew everywhere, they are so tiny, you can’t even do a rotation in them (I am not the first reviewer to say this). There is no elevator, so you have to carry your bags up these spirally stairs that are very narrow. The housekeeping came to our room numerous times and just walked in when they felt like they should clean it up. Highly unprofessional. The water in the room would often go hot and cold, they do not switch towels daily, the walls are paper thin, dated plumbing and décor. Breakfast was ‘meh.’ The thing we couldn’t get over were the multiple glares we would get when returning late or the amount of flack we got for otherwise common hotel occurrences.

Locaton is ok, random people urinating everywhere, overall general rude-ness, welcome to Paris...

Dear J S,
You wrote: "This was my first time in Paris, obvious last. The entire place is old, and smells of urine".
You didn't like Paris? Yes Paris is old of course, Was it a surpise for you? Odor of urine, I really don't know what's hapened during your stay but it's not the specificity of our city. But May I really need to defend city of light?
Concerning the hotel, Yes we are located on the heart of Paris, in a typicall parisian building built in 1890. Yes we have an elevator for 4 persons very unusual in old building in Paris.
You wrote:"From the onset, we feel like we were being watched, and I don’t like how you have to leave your room key at the hotel desk". We have a card system and you can keep the card if you want... You wasn't watched I promess you. When your friend came at the hotel he didn't came at the reception before and security of our guest is one of our priority,
Sorry to read you don't want to come back in Paris.

the hotel is small but good, when we checked in it was 12 noon the one in the reception was not helpfull at all no smiling and agressive he asked for manucipline takx 9 euro each and also insisted either to pay 100 euro diposit just in case or to take the cridet card number although we were fully payed by expedia. the one in the evening sheft was very good nice attitude very helpfull his name is nour i would like to thank him he is from morroco. the hotel is clean very good location close to the traffice station or metro, rooms are ok very small bath room but clean the breakfast is very limitedno egg only cheese and ham but fresh croisant and bread any way we enjoyed our stay but it doest worth the money we payed for.

I spent 4 nights with my 2 brats aged 16 and 13 at the Migny Opera ...days were filled with exploring Paris; a light continental breakfast was a good start to the days...no complaints from the kids, and believe me, they're fussy...

Room was fine for 3; we even had a walk on balcony with view of the street; handy for a cigarette...
Bathroom problem was having 16 year old daughter taking forever to dress for the day; but this is Paris and looking good takes time..

The hotel is close to Pigalle metro station, local buses and the all night action of a red-light district with myriads of souvenir & sex shops; if you're a bit prudish don't take kids...but teens can have a laugh at the overt sleaze.

Again, this is Paris where there are huge signs warning of pick-pockets (even inside the Louvre, too...so they are well cultured); you need to take the reality of security everywhere.

Have fun; the Migny is just the base...
