“Not worth the price”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2011

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days with my husband and was really disappointed to see the room.
the rooms are so small that after keeping your luggage there is no space to walk.. When i complained about it, the receptionist said that this is what you get in Paris.
the toilet is clean but really small.
breakfast is really not worth Euro 8 per person.
the best part about the hotel is its location . its very easily connected to metro and most part of the attractions.
the worst part about the hotel is also its locations. The walk from the metro station to the hotel at night is horrifying. the beauty parlous around the hotel turn into brothels and u'll see pimps standing outside.

I'm sorry to be so harsh, but I wish someone would have warned me about the area this hotel was in. This is close to a metro stop but the one block between the metro and hotel is awful. I did not feel safe after dark and immediately found other arrangements once we saw this. The reviews I read only complained of the small size rooms. The rooms themselves were fine, but if you want to really enjoy paris, especially paris at night, find another place to stay.

Close to metro and some shops.
But The room we stayed was quite small and only meant for sleeping. There is not enough light in the room. No fridge as well.
Also avoid going there in summer days. There is no ventilation or at least a fan. It would be pretty hot, sweating at night.
Also depending on your room, you may hear lots of noises because of moving objects by staff or guests during the day or at night.

Well, I have to admit that I was a bit reluctant to stay here because of previous comments. But I was greatly surprised when I got to the hotel. It's nicely located a block away from Strasbourg-St. Denis metro station or a block and a half from Chateau d'eau metro station both in line 4. You may think that the surroundings aren't safe because of the people you see; but honestly, they don't even look at you. The hotel is small and cozy. The check in time is at 2 pm, so be aware of that. I was a solo traveler, so my room was comfortable (even though that I have to admit if we were two, it'd have been difficult to move around in the room). The room was perfectly clean and tidy. The bathroom was tiny, but that;s normal in Paris. The shower is minimal but the whole bathroom was white as a piece of paper. I saw now aircon in the room, so no Idea how they do when hot days in summer arrives. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only thing I complain about is that the bed was too soft and the elevator was toooooo slow. But I definitely would stay again here! They have free wifi access, but I couldn't access at all

Room Tip: Ask for a lower floor room

If you are after a very basic hotel in Paris where you can easily walk to the major sites such as St. Michel in the Latin Quarter than this hotel should satisfy your needs. However if you are after a hotel with great service, amenities and air conditioning then perhaps pay a little extra and stay somewhere else.

The hotel was not in a particularly nice area but it was VERY close to a metro station and the gare du nord which is handy for transport to and from CDG airport. There was also a useful shop right next to the hotel entrance. It was about a 2.5km walk to the river where the louvre, etc is.

The staff were really friendly and I felt I could have approached them for any advice or help if necessary.

The room was small and basic but fine for us. There was however a small ant problem in our room which turned into a rather big ant problem when we left an open bottle of champagne on the desk while we went out for dinner! :s

After reading mixed reviews, we got to the hotel and sided to the good reviews. We arrived at 7:30 am and our room was ready. We did not get anything stolen, breakfast was fine, the location isclose to the Metro and/or 20-30 minute walk to the Louvre (if you like to walk) . No complains here basically you get what you paid.
