“I'll never come and stay at this hotel again.”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 9, 2011

The best thing about this hotel is its location as its walking distance from the St.Lazare underground. The room was clean and the shower worked well. BUT..... the air-conditioning did not work and so the room was hot. After trying to cool the room by opening the window doors, I was forced to close them to sleep because the noise of traffic was so loud. (I had a street facing room on the fourth floor.) The bed was really creaky. I didn't even try the restaurant coz it didn't look that great. Oh, don't be fooled by this hotel's webite saying there's free WIFI coz there is only free WIFI in the lobby of the hotel. It stopped working after our second day of stay there. We tried to borrow an adaptor from the reception in the evening. The reception stff was so blazzare about it and rumaged lazily in the drawer next to him before replying sleepily, "No adaptor."

No air conditioning in the room. No wireless on floors 5 and 6. There appeared to be an electric current going through the mattress. The lighting was not adequate - I couldn't see my computer keyboard.
The room was boiling hot in the daytime, and without air conditioning it was necessary to leave the windows open for hours to get the temperature down.
The cleaners went into the room even though I had put a do not disturb sign on the door. The restaurant is enclosed by walls, so when someone started smoking a cigar I was forced to leave.
This building should be condemned.

For the price we paid (less than 100 euros a night), and the great location, we took a gamble with this place. It was easy to get to from CDG using the RER lines, and there are Metro stations close by too. We had a good sized room overlooking the courtyard at the back so road noise wasn’t an issue, and the bathroom was very big and clean so no complaints there.

The room could definitely do with some upgrading as the wallpaper was coming off the walls in a few bits, and it was a little shabby looking. The room-safe didn’t seem to work so we gave up, but the mini-bar fridge worked and was very handy for storing our own water and beers. One night and morning there was no hot water but it was sorted fairly quickly. The beds ARE noisy and creak every time you move, so if you are a light sleeper that may be a problem. We used the restaurant one night, but we wouldn’t recommend it. The food was a bit bland and as for the owner/waiter, well, you’ll either find him amusing or just really irritating! I wouldn’t go there for a romantic meal where you don’t want to be disturbed. We had minimal contact with the staff as we had no major issues, but when we did they seemed OK.

Overall we found it good for the price as we had no real problems. Not the best hotel we’ve stayed in but we wouldn’t rule it out completely for future visits as its location is great for getting to all the major attractions on foot or by Metro.

Rooms had A/C controls but had no effect on temperature of the room. We had fantastic weather which resulted in a very hot room. With windows open the traffic noise made it hard to sleep. Only 2 pillows about the thickness of cigarette papers were available on our double bed. Night porter rude and I was told that no extra pillows were available as the hotel was full! Our friends had 2 of their 4 towels taken for laundering but not replaced. Reception shrugged and said they were waiting for a delivery! There was no iron available at receptionRoom condition was clean but in need of some TLC. Location was good however witha short walk to the metro. Paris we loved everything about it and all the Parisians were very friendly with the exception of our night porter!

Unfriendly staff, they can't even say hello or smile. The hotel in general is very outdated. The rooms are small and have a dirty old carpet. No shower curtain so the bathroom is overflooded when you take a shower, the beds are very uncomfortable. The breakfast is a big joke and is a very dark old room. The only good thing about this hotel is probably its location. One of the worst hotels i've ever been to. The ac isn't working at all. Switching on the lights in the room is quite an experience. You have about 5 French tv channels. All in all it's dirty and old. Needs some updating and friendlier staff. Have a nice stay at the psa. Enjoy your trip.

The hotel is in a good cental location but otherwise it does not live up to its billing. The reception flatters to deceive as our rooms were shabby and not as clean as you would expect in a 3 star hotel. Our towels were removed one day and not replaced - when we asked for clean ones we were told there were none available. Generally the staff were not freindly, did not deal with any of our requests and made no apologies for any of the hotel's short comings. The rooms were hot and the airconditioning did not work. Wifi is not available in the rooms.

Room Tip: Stay in an other hotel!

Though you cannot ask for more with its price and location, this hotel certainly needs improvement in renovation and services. Lobby shabby, mirror broken, electricity run out in room (fuse box problem), handicapped wifi, staff hold the lift for chatting and most furious of all, unreliable airport transfer. Even book in advance and being given a confirmation receipt, I was being told that they did not have my booking! No compensation was made for me even it is not my fault! Sigh!
