“The Royal Opera has got even better”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2014

This was my third stay in this Hotel, and whilst I have always given it a good review, this time so much has changed in the last 12 months (for the better) that I decided to review it again.
Since my last stay (Sept 2013) the Hotel has undergone major refurbishment and all for the better.
The room I had was small (typical of this type of Paris Hotel), BUT, this time there was air conditioning, a fully renovated bathroom and a refrigerator with Mini Bar (the Mini Bar prices completely outrageous as per normal). You ARE able to use the refrigerator for your own drinks and food. That was a real bonus.
As usual, the staff were wonderful, even to the young man who cleaned the rooms and made the beds. Every one of them are friendly, extremely helpful and all speak good English.
When you consider all these points and the fact that the Hotel is in a quiet street that is full of eateries, fresh fruit food shops, a Patisserie, Subway and then add to that the location it is very hard to beat this Hotel for value for money.
Within easy walking distance from the Hotel are The Opera Garnier, Galleries Lafayette, Place de la Concorde, The Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, The Louvre, The River Seine, Maxim's Restaurant (if you can afford it), the Gardens Tuileries, etc etc and the list goes on.
I really LOVE this little Hotel and recommend it to all. Remember though, it is small and is NOT a Hilton or the like, it is a good, very well run small Hotel that does have a lift and remember, you are only sleeping here. I have no hesitation in rating it 8/10 for the type of Hotel that it is.

The hotel is in a good location and the staff are friendly. However, there was a lot of noise coming from the other rooms and the corridor. I could hear conversations from one side and taps running from the other.

The services were fine. I didn't like that you can hear all the noises coming outside the room. The room I stayed in Was old and need maintenance. The night recepcionist Was great and really nice. There Was a electricity cutdown the second night i Was in the hotel.

Our second stay in that hotel. We really like the location the room are small but very clean.
And it is price accordingly. if you are looking for a hotel were you don't spend much time in your room at a reasonable price then this is it. We walk from the hotel to the Eiffel tower to Montmartre to the shop etc.... no need of expensive taxi or smelly tube just great

Room Tip: Try room 63 at the top no lift but very nice room

Basic, clean (though it could use some renovation), and very well located. Within walking distance from shops, restaurants, public transportation... everything one would need in Paris, for tourism or business.

The hotel is very small, as was the room I stayed, but fair. The staff is friendly and helpful. I had breakfast included but I couldn't try it as I had to leave early, so can't comment on it.

All in all, It's a solid 3-star hotel and If one just need a place to sleep and with a good deal (I booked through their website and got 50% off), it's quite worth it.

This is a small hotel but its location is really very very good. It's close to the Madeleine Church and the Opera is very very near. Also Lafayette boutiques and of course the "triangle d'Or". La place de la Concorde and Louvre very close to the hotel too. The metro station is "Madeleine" but you can walk to most of the places and sites in Paris. A very very safe area. I was travelling alone and it was perfect. The staff at the hotel was kind enough, don't expect them to help you with the lugagge (of course it's not included in the cathegory of the hotel or in the prices, but sometimes it's good that someone helps you with opening or holding doors when you try to enter with lugagge...) but they are nice. Breakfast is good but don't expect a buffet for 10 euros: orange juice, bread, croissant, cafe, tea or chocolate, brioche with chocolate, jam, butter, yougourt. It is a very good option if you want to have breakfast at the hotel. The kinder person in this hotel is the madam who serves you the breakfast. The man at reception was really kind too. The other women at reception were not unkind but they are not to mention either for their kindness. The price for breakfast outside is 9, 9,50 or 10 and just croissant, orange juice, and hot drink but there are places, not the typical cafés parisiens, where you can have a coffee with croissant cheaper than that.

Room Tip: My room was on the second floor and was an exterior one. The street is quiet so, no problems of nois...

The room is clean and tidy but a bit small and since we lived at the top of the building, the room was a bit too warm in summer. However, the location of the hotel is really good. There are quite some restaurants next to the hotel and a lots of shops are very close to the hotel.
All in all, it is a very nice hotel.
