We were so excited to go see Bruno Mars in Paris. The only problem was that we had never gone to the venue, Le Zenith, and hence I was a bit apprehensive. We took a taxi so as not to have to drive in evening traffic. The concert doors were to open at 6;:30 pm so I figured that if we got there by 5:30 pm we would be there in plenty of time. We got there at about 5:30 pm and there were 2 lines already queued up with perhaps several hundred people. The security guards told us that there were only 2 lines but I kept seeing people going off to the left of the venue(as you are facing the "Caisses") so I figured there were other lines. Sure enough, we made our way to some smaller lines and were in the venue fairly easily. We had Category 2 tickets (general seating). These tickets also allowed you to go onto the floor if you wanted to watch the show standing in the crowd. My 3 Teenage Girls did that and they were within 10 rows of people from the stage. Though standing the whole time, they thoroughly enjoyed the experience of being on the floor. Bruno's sound was awesome. The stage was a bit hard to see from the Category 2 seating where I was but the sound was really great.
So, in summary:
- Take a taxi or have a friend drop you off and pick you up. There is a parking garage for those who would rather drive but traffic is horrible leaving the concert.
- Get there early...plan for getting there at least 2 hours before your concert.
- Bring a "sack" dinner and picnic in line. I was told by someone that worked at the Zenith that the food is really horrible and overpriced, so you may want to pack some extra snacks for the time you'll be waiting.
