“Nice Rooms, good area, didn't like the bar”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2013

We booked a Jim room and found it well appointed on its own floor with a window and lots of skylights that had automatic blinds. The bed was comfortable and warm, and the rain shower with delicious smelling Molton Brown amenities was perfect after a long day.

As with most hotels in Paris, some spaces were terribly compact. I'm a 5'2" 110lb female and found the bar so, so claustrophobic with tiny designer chairs and tiny cutlery that look great but were they made for children or what? The bar was also uncomfortably hot, set to like 25 degrees celsius on a 17 degree day. Because of these comfort factors the bar seemed unremarkable although thoroughly avoidable.

Granted, I noticed many Parisians sporting Canada Goose down jackets in this rainy humid weather. Being from Canada, I only pull out that 'duvet jacket' when its -45 degrees celsius and I have to dig my car out of the snow way too early in the morning...

Room Tip: We loved the Jim room on the third floor, nice and removed from the main area but overlooking the co...

Nice design but no windows in superior rooms. So ok, you have one but you can open because it overlooks the reseption.
Clean cozy rooms. Shower isn't good so that the water flows on the floor.
Nice helpfull staff with good english.

After a long search through tripadvisor and numerous hotel booking websites I manged to find Jules & Jim.
What a brilliant hotel. Great location near to 3 different metro stations. Only a short walk from the Pompidou Centre and Notre Dame and close to lots of nice little cafes to have breakfast and dinner.
The room we had (a Jim room) was large. I'd been a bit worried after reading lots of reviews on different Paris hotels that the normal room size for Paris was small, this wasn't. Everything was modern...we didn't have a great view but it was quiet.
The staff were great. Very helpful, willing to talk in French or English.
The little bar seemed cool, although we only had one drink there we wished we'd had longer to spend some time drinking the wine that the owner makes himself.
Highly recommend this place.

Room Tip: Jim was a good sized room.

We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. All the rooms and bathrooms are very small, but functional and I loved the modern decor. The staff were friendly and helpful. Loved the courtyard, vertical garden and artworks.

Room Tip: The courtyard rooms have a little balcony if you want some fresh air. All rooms are very small.

As a matter of real estate, the "3e arrondissement" - along with the 1st, 2nd and 4th - is reputedly the most expensive in Paris. Even if sales tend to slow down and prices to collapse. Isn't all of France, by the way, (except luxury...) collapsing although disapproving of or envying German legendary efficiency of Italian ever-lasting charm ? For years I have been living in a little street just off rue de Bretagne lined with countless Chinese luggage retailer shops. An ideal hideaway for one or two. But whenever extra guests visited, I had no idea on where I should advise them to stay. Now I know. Two years ago, a most unusual, trendy and welcoming hotel opened just across the street : the "Jules & Jim", after the 1961 movies by François Truffaut, starring Jeanne Moreau. Subdued colors and lights. 23 handsome, design and well-fitted rooms in three different very tall and very narrow buildings. A stunning roofless and triangle shaped courtyard with a giant sofa and chimney. Dancing... well, view on the roofs (remember Disney's "Aristocats" ?) Not to forget a 7-days-a-week open bar : a perfect meeting point cherished by locals and foreigners alike. A stylish, generous and helpful staff. For now Paris well-kept and most valuable secret.

Room Tip: Any is a good one. Be a cat. Dance.

We loved the location!
Easy walk and easy metro to everything paris!
The hidden hotel is a sanctuary, a feeling of nature in a modern design! Intimate and sexxy design in our room made it easy to appreciate the court yard!
Our hi Mac room on the first floor was sublime!
The staff were beautiful and so friendly! Thanks for the joy we had at your hotel in paris!

I loved everything in this hotel, the rotating art exhibits, the vertical garden, the history of the building, breakfast with fresh fruits and the best coffee, its location and the cozy rooms with rounded walls. Even the dinner recommendations on the website are fenomenal.
