I found this little restaurant via trip advisor and decided to book it well in advance - about 3 weeks in advance as the reviews were high and most said it gets very busy.
The restaurant itself is small and cosy, maybe a little too small! Was a little squashed by the people next to us and couldn't get past my table to get out! That wasn't really a big issue :)
Me and my partner decided to get the 3 course meal - which was a little confusing - they explained the starter was a mixture of the first 3 items on the menu - same as the dessert, then you can choose the main out of a few options. Paid extra for 2 glasses of wine and overall it came to about 80 odd euros.
We were the first ones in the restaurant and it was dead when we arrived - but as soon as it got busy quite suddenly, the customer service wasn't as good - they seemed a little short of staff (there were two waiters but they could have done with an extra one to keep up with the service). So as the waiter was explaining the menu to us he had to stop to go greet other customers or answer the phone - so we had divided attention. It was understandable but a little annoying that he kept going off!
We finally chose our meal. Me and my partner both had a trio of starters - some spinach salad with vinaigrette dressing, fois gras and I can't remember the other thing as it was pretty average and not memorable. For mains we both had rabbit cooked in pork fat to make it tender - with vegetables, potatoes and a tarragon gravy. This was actually the best part of the whole meal and was very tasty!
We finished off with dessert, which was also a trio. We had mini tiramisu which was gorgeous, passionfruit with cream on top and chocolate cake - was a little dry. Complimentary coffee on the side. The three course meal plus the coffee was enough to fill us up.
We also got the impression we were being hurried out of the place as more customers were arriving and there weren't enough tables. Didn't really get a decent goodbye and they forgot our complimentary vodkas which were talked about highly in reviews.
Average food, a little overpriced, very friendly staff - but unfortunately couldn't keep up with the amount of customers which let down the customer service.
I don't understand as most reviews are very high of this place - I think they/I had an unlucky night maybe?
