“Wonder Stay, fantastic service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 20, 2013

This is a fun little hotel in the Marais district. We stayed for 4 nights. It is close to many wonderful restaurants and shops. A little stroll to Notre Dame and the Pompidou center, and very convenient to the RER and Metro. The room was very small, but very comfortable. The bathroom had a fantastic rain shower and led lights within the grout of the tiles. At night it felt like showering in the stars. :) Sebastian at the front desk was very helpful with dinner recommendations, things to do, things to avoid and directions. I read some reviews about the service being not nice and they are absolutely wrong. Everyone was great. Would definitely stay there again.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Georgette for three nights. The room was very comfortable, even though it was quite small. The location is what you are really paying for and cannot be beat. It is close to everything and we rarely had to take a cab or the metro.

Our main issue was the service at the front desk. When we came to check in, we arrived ahead of check-in time. We were told we could drop off our things and that we could check in at two. That's fine and what we expected. We asked for a recommendation of somewhere we could get some food and the person at the front desk laughed at us and just told us to walk down the street and we might find a cafe. I didn't really know why it was so hilarious to be hungry after traveling for the past 20 hours. When we came in at two the room was still not ready. I thought this was strange as they had known that we would come at two since 7:30 in the morning. There aren't that many rooms in the hotel so why was ours the last to be cleaned? I just thought the whole thing was odd. After waiting for 15-30 minutes (my husband fell asleep on their couch) we were shown our room. It felt like reception did not have any experience working with people who had been traveling for long periods of time. I felt like everytime I went to ask a question the receptionist laughed at us, including when I asked how much the items in the mini bar were (I never got an answer).

When we checked out the charged us for one breakfast for every morning we stayed there. We had breakfast only once. They had charged our card before giving us the bill to review and then told us that he couldn't put the money back on our card without the manager. It has been a month and we still don't have the money back on our card.

Bottom line, the room and location were excellent. But, my husband and I dreaded having to interact with the hotel staff.

Dear Guest,

We thank you for your comment.

We are glad to read that you enjoyed your stay in Paris and loved the Hotel Georgette and its situation.

We are however surprised to read your comment about the front desk staff.
We are truly sorry that it was an unpleasant experience.
In June we had new stand-in collaborators at the front desk while the main team was away and they might not have been properly trained.
We also have a list of restaurant that we advise, and the staff member probably did not find it at the time.

We would like to apologize for the lack of efficiency and courtesy that you were faced with.
Regarding the issue with breakfast, we invite you to contact us directly.

Please be assured that we take your remarks very seriously and would love to make it up to you.
Therefore, feel free to contact us directly for your next stay in Paris and we will do our best to make it a great experience, as it should have been last June.

Best regards,

The Georgette team.

We would definitely stay here again! The location alone can not be beat. That, plus the interesting decor, cleanliness, and comfort added up to a winning combination. Sure, every so often, one of the guys at the front desk may have been a bit grouchy, but don't let that deter you from staying at this little gem.

We stayed at this hotel in late May for 4 nights and thoroughly enjoyed it. Comfortable bed and a very clean room. The bathroom had the most wonderful shower. The hotel was in a great location and we found the staff helpful. Would happily stay here again.

Nice petite hotel. It is decorated with great Pompidou style. The rooms we stayed on (the cheapest) were a little bit too much small, but when you are in Paris you just need a comfortable bed with comfortable pillow and clean room which was what we've got. The petite bathroom was very clean and stylish. The staff were very fiendly and helpful at any time. If you don't mind tiny rooms, this is the place to stay. It is less than one minute walk from Pompidou. (you just have to cross a department community which is open for pedestrians). . Recommendation: Our last night we went to a late visit to Pompidou, with very little tourists at that time of the day, and then we came back for a great dinner at the fancy restaurant at the top of Pompidou . Great Paris views!!!

Room Tip: The less expensive rooms don't have twin beds, so make shure the type of room when you plan.

We enjoyed a 4 night stay while in Paris at this hotel. The room was modern and had good air conditioning. Location was good and free wifi was a plus. Staff spoke english, which was very helpful for us. We were greeted with a complimentary bottle of champagne since we mentioned it was our honeymoon, which was also lovely. The room was very quiet and even though our room was right next to the elevator we didn't hear a thing from outside. The bed was comfortable and we slept well all 4 nights without any problems. The decor of the room was a kind of "pop art" theme, which we thought was really cool.

I would give the place 5 stars, but there were a few small things that could have been improved: Our shower head didn't have very good pressure and when we brought it up to staff, they said to try it again and they would send someone to check it the next day - never heard anything about it after and it was never adjusted. I also found a pair of random flip flops under our bed not belonging to us our second day, which grossed me out a bit. And our first night we asked the front desk for a casual/quiet restaurant recommendation since we were tired from traveling. I was immediately told "We don't do bookings" when I asked if he would mind calling to see if there is any seating available. I said "we don't need a booking, can you just call before we walk over to see there if there are any seats right now" and he obliged. When we got to the restaurant it was a rather fancy, expensive place - the food was good, just not the environment we were prepared for. I assume our definition of casual just might be different?

Locations very good, easy walking to local metro and RER stations. Clean quirky rooms, good cheap options for breakfast if you fancy it. Really handy to have an 'honesty' bar available as well. In room safe, and free WIFI also a great plus! But one of the best things about this hotel is its staff. They were welcoming from storing our bag on our very early arrival to providing us with maps and tips on getting to the stade de France easily for a concert. Paris can have a reputation (unfairly sometimes) for standoffish service - definitely not here and as a result we would return like a shot!
