“Nice hotel with great location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2014

A lovely hotel, I stayed here for six nights in July and enjoyed the hotel's close proximity to Luxembourg Gardens, the Cluny Museum, the Pantheon, Notre Dame and other tourist attractions. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and the room I had was quite spacious compared to what I had been expecting after reading reviews on here, had nice decor and was very clean. The shower and bathroom were modern and one of the best features and the air conditioner in the room worked extremely well.

At times lots of noise could be heard with people going up and down the stairs, and doors slamming, but overall the sleep quality was good (beds and pillows are very comfortable). And whilst the rooms do not have amenities such as a kettle or mini bar fridge, tea and drinks are offered downstairs and just outside the hotel there are several restaurants and cafes to select from.

Overall, my stay here was pleasant and I would stay here again for its price and location.

We stayed here for 2 nights in July.
Hotel was lovely, cool decor, friendly and welcoming staff and although our room was a bit small it had everything we needed for our short break - the air con was especially welcome as we arrived during a heatwave!
Would book this hotel again.

Was put up here by work and, having never heard of the hotel despite many previous trips to Paris, was not expecting much, but was very pleasantly surprised. Fabulously located on (the Sorbonne corner of) the very pretty and lovely Place Sorbonne - and thus an easy walk to so much of the tourist sites etc - the hotel is very modern, very clean, with the fittings etc to a high standard. The rooms are very spacious for Paris, with all mod cons inc great power showers (some rooms have baths too I believe), TV's in the bathrooms and new flat screen TV in the bedroom. Breakfast options not huge but everything on offer was very fresh and good quality. Staff pretty friendly and professional (which, let's be honest, is often not the case in France!). Don't know what the room rate was as work covered it all, but if rates are OK I would certainly return here on my own pocket on a future trip to Paris.

Great location close to lots of things including Notre Dame and the Seine. small rooms but next to a small plaza by the University. several restaurants and stores near by. Just blocks from RER station. Staff was very friendly and accommodating. Skip the overpriced breakfast. a couple blocks away is a street with dozens of restaurants, very competitive. grocery stores nearby help in keeping food budget in line. Hotel is OK, but needs some maintenance. Light switches seem to be floating on the walls, not attached. Plumbing is OK, but no showers, just tubs.

Room Tip: get a 'superior' room. more money, but more livable.

This was a great hotel choice for us - my teenage daughter and I were traveling together. The location was safe and close to everything we needed, including the metro, monuments, and great restaurants. It is right at the gates of the Sorbonne and only a short walk to Notre Dame, the Luxembourg Gardens, the Cluny Museum, the Pantheon, and multiple Metro stations. We appreciated being off the tourist path but with easy access to everything. It was safe to walk home to, even late at night. The room was small but included a private bath and air conditioning. The elevator is typical for Paris - tiny - but we were happy walking the stairs. The staff was amazingly helpful and friendly. We will definitely return!

I would ignore the negative ratings of this hotel - the rooms are small (normal in Europe) but the beds are comfortable, staff helpful when asked, rooms are clean, and the a/c is cold. The location cannot be beat - many things are within walking distance, Notre Dame, Louvre, and even some good cafe's. Metro Stations are also close.

Negatives - Wi Fi is intermittant, tub only no shower - but shower handle is attached to the tub so it's not really a negative. But then again - who cares - we were not in Paris to surf the net or worry about whether the bathroom accomodations were just like at home. I was still able to get the neccessary emails, and also get cleaned up after a long day/evening on the town

I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Location is awesome, rooms are nice, and the price we paid for what we got (for Paris) was good as well.

I booked this hotel via Expedia and picked it for the price I got and for its top-notch location. Who can beat Place de la Sorbonne in Paris?...
I was generally very pleased with this hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was not very big, but it was made very clear on Expedia that it was a room for just one person. It was clean and very adequate. There was a box of chocolates on the desk (I did not eat them, since I am not fond of chocolate...). The free wi-fi worked very well, and the room was very quiet, and the bed extremely comfortable. I checked out at 10:00 a.m. (checking out time is noon), but stayed in Paris all afternoon, my luggage was stored in a safe luggage room until close to 5:00 p.m.

Now, for the few small things. And "small" is the qualifier of choice here. The elevator is minuscule, the smallest I have ever seen in any French hotel - only one person with a suitcase and a bag can fit in it. To access my room, as well as the one across it, the only alternative was a very very small spiral staircase that can also accommodate one person, and it would be impossible to carry a suitcase up those steps. Most of the other rooms are accessible via a normal staircase, but the elevator to those rooms is also extremely small.

Breakfast was included. It is a smallish buffet. I have to comment on the fact that I was not fond of the choice of bread products included. Why not just focus on excellent croissants and baguette. The baguette served was not very good...

Overall, I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: I can't really offer any tip here.
