“Gem in Paris!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2011

We have just returned from a beautiful 5 day trip from Paris. We stayed at the Hotel de la Tulipe. This was our second stay at this hotel. The hotel is a GEM. We found the staff very helpful from the moment we entered the hotel. It is acute palce with beautiful courtyard and the rooms are very comfortable. The petit dejuner served in the morning gives your day a healthy start. In short we LOVED the place and would be back again again.
A special thanks to Joan!

Room Tip: I prefer the rooms on the ground floor .

We stayed here for 3 nights and absolutely loved it. It's in a perfect location near the Eiffel Tower and Rue Claire and easy walking distance to several metro stops. The hotel is quaint with good sized rooms, a beautiful courtyard for breakfast or early evening drinks and lot's of character. We'll definitely stay here again and I'd highly recommend it.

Don't stay here if you have trouble with steep narrow stairs. No views out the windows, very hot no air conditioning.
We booked a room for four people on Expedia.com, when we got to the hotel, they said they didn't have any rooms big enough for four people, we were forced to rent a second room at our expense. Not a good way to start your stay in Paris. Breakfast not worth 10 euros each.

This was our second time to stay at this hotel, and it was still wonderful. We stayed in the apartment. It is a very cute apartment, and all 5 of us were very comfortable. It is nice being able to look down into the garden and it is nice being in walking distance of the Eiffel Tower and the Hop-On Hop-Off bus stops. The beds were extremely comfortable and we all slept like rocks. It isn't air conditioned, but there are 2 big fans provided and the windows open wide, so heat was not an issue.

The staff is very helpful. We had picked up takeaway food one night, and it was cold, so we asked if we could use the microwave. The clerk said no, but that he would do it for us. He heated up all of the containers of food, put them on a lovely tray with silverware, salt, pepper, etc., and really went the extra mile to help us. We needed a cab to get to the train station to catch the Eurostar to London, and because it was raining, it was hard to get a cab driver. There were 2 staff members on the phone trying so hard to get us a cab. Ultimately we failed to get a cab, had to walk to the metro in a heavy rain, then were late to the Eurostar station and missed our train, but luckily we were able to get the next train. Still, the staff tried very hard to help.

The decor is lovely, though I think it is time for the room to be repainted. It's just beginning to show a little wear. I hope they will keep the same color scheme though. It feels very quaint and authentic and nice.

Room Tip: The apartment is very comfortable for 5. There are 2 televisions, 1 full bathroom, 1 shower room, a...

With no air conditioning and a small garden courtyard, this hotel is impossibly noisy on hot summer nights when the windows are open.

A beautiful, traditionally styled room... ebullient but/and very French staff, free internet, great nearby bakeries, cafes and restaurants. Recommended if you are looking for a comfortable and easy stay.

Room Tip: Ask for upstairs

We stayed for 3 nights in this very lovely, cozy hotel. The reception area and courtyard are very charming and welcoming. It's nicely located just a block or two from the Eiffel Tower and has many cafes, restaurants and local shopping right down the street (there's even a Starbucks right around the corner!) The staff is very helpful and kind and provided personal service only found at a smaller hotel. The rooms are nice (small) but comfortable and many look out over the courtyard, filled with vines, plants and white lights-very charming! Our only complaint would be that the tub/shower doesn't have a shower curtain and so we found ourselves showering very carefully so as to keep all the water in the tub. We were unsuccessful though and each time the bathroom was drenched. Overall, this would be a great pick!
