“Great place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 15, 2013

Perfect small hotel for your next stay in Paris: a walking-distance away from Paris-Gare de Lyon, and from many of the city's greatest monuments. Lovely quartier du Marais. Also near the metro stops. Very quiet and safe environment! Correct prices. Cute clean small rooms and big bathroom! Free wifi that actually works:-) Very helpful and friendly personnel. We didn't get to test the breakfast, but as we'll be back, we look forward to doing so.

Don't be fooled by the old pics, the hotel was very well renovated recently and fitted with a small but stylish elevator.
Very well located, close to Sully-Morland metro station and around 5-7 mins to St.Paul station. The room size was fair and the bathroom rather large.
Despise being situated on a quiet street, the inside of the hotel its a pretty noisy. The mattress is quite hard and the towels are clean but of poor quality.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 16, 2012

I stayed here for a week at the beginning of Nov 2012. I had a single room facing the front of the hotel - 202. On arrival and throughout my stay the reception staff were friendly and always helpful with a recommendation. The room and hotel looked great after the recent renovation.

For a single, I had a double size bed which is not that common. Usually it is a twin. The bed took up most of the bed room but that is nothing unusual for Europe. Now the bathroom compared to European and even American standards was HUGE. The shower, I believe was larger than the hotel's elevator which has a capacity of 3 people. Loved, loved the shower. Excellent temperature, water pressure and again the size.

The room had an in room safe and coffee/tea making station. The prices in the mini bar were shockingly cheap. It was about 1.50 euros for a bottle of water or a can of soda. I couldn't buy soda that cheap anywhere else in Paris. There was no drawer space but the room had a good size closet. The room came with a clock that you could insert your iPhone/iPod Touch into.

The only negative is the sound proofing. If you have a loud person above or next to you (only on the one side) then you will hear it. After a week there was only a couple of instances right before I went to bed that I could hear my neighbors. Otherwise it was quiet.

Finally the location is great. It is a 1-2 minute walk to the Sully Morland metro stop on the pink/7 line and a 5-10 walk to the St Paul metro stop on the yellow/1 line. The Bastille stop is about the same distance as St Paul. The St Paul stop was better for getting to the main sites. Miss Manon and Paul are great places to grab a quick bite in the morning or evening on your way between the hotel and St Paul. There really isn't much between the Sully Morland stop and the hotel.

I took the RER in from CDG but used the hotel's shuttle on the return trip. It was nice not to have to lug my luggage and walk forever at Les Halles/Chatelet & CDG. Being able to add it to the bill was an added bonus. It was pricey but worth it.

I would highly recommend this hotel.

Initially stayed at hotel for several days in September and returned for longer stay in November. Reception staff are extremely helpful. Rooms are very well equipped with tea/coffee making facilities. Only drawback was inability to access English Speaking TV channel. Thoroughly enjoyed my stay and hope to return in the next year.

This hotel is recently renovated. The rooms are small, but perfect. The hotel and staff provided everything we hoped for in Paris. They enabled us to "walk the city" for 4 days and enjoy our stay. We did not try the breakfast, so we can't comment on that. The shuttle service to and from the airport was GREAT!!!! No need for a car rental with that service.

Like another reviewer, it was my initial desire to stay at the sister hotel on Ile St. Louis, which was full. This hotel just re-opened, on September 1, after a 10 month long renovation. Unfortunately we were there for only one day and night (October 22, 2012). Although the rooms are small, they, including the sizable bathrooms, are gorgeous. And, as others have stated, the location was good. I will make every effort to stay at Hotel Saint Louis Marais again, for an extended period.

This is a brilliant place to stay in Paris. The Marais has a nice ' village like' feel to it, but you are still only a short walk away from ile St Louis and Notre Dame.
The staff were friendly, the room was small but nice and the bathroom spacious with a good shower.
There are nice places to eat nearby.
It is just a few minutes down to the Seine, so very easy to have a stroll by the river.
Can't wait to go back and enjoy the delights of this amazing place again.
