“Wonderful Hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 14, 2013

My adult daughter and I enjoyed our stay at Hotel La Perle. The hotel is well located and convenient to sights and restaurants. Our room was beautiful, spacious and opened out onto the breakfast terrace. The bathroom was large and well appointed. The beds were super comfy with down pillows and lighter than air down duvets - heaven after a long day of sightseeing. The included breakfast was very good. Free wifi.

The staff were all wonderful. A special mention to Anya who made sure we ate very well while
in Paris. If she recommends a restaurant you must try it! We utilized three of her suggestions and each was exceptional.

We will be back!

My wife and I are just concluding a very pleasant stay at La Perle, and already we are scheming about when and how we can return. For many years we'd been staying at a favorite place in Montparnasse, but we'd long been intrigued by La Perle -- not least, because increasingly we found ourselves coming over from Montparnasse to rue Canettes and the surrounding streets for dinner, attracted by the many and diverse small restaurants that have congregated here. Then, when our Montparnasse hotel made some unfortunate changes, we made the switch to La Perle, and we haven't been at all tempted to look back.

The hotel itself is a gem -- we punted for a somewhat more expensive executive room and ended up in a large, comfortable, quiet space that we really loved. Breakfasts, served in a spacious and pleasant greenhouse-style room, are great. Some reviewers say the rooms here are small, and we have only seen two of them so I can't say much about that issue, but in our middle-level room, with our tons of luggage, we did not feel cramped. The neighborhood is a real plus -- restaurants (Bistro d'Henri, Aux Charpentiers, Cote Bergamote), yes, but also Place St-Sulpice, close proximity to rue de Rennes and St-Germain des Pres, good metro connections... this is simply a great part of the Left Bank and Paris generally.

The staff, however, really make La Perle a special place. They are friendly, multi-lingual, and always helpful. About two days into our stay, the elevator/lift went out of service; we (traveling oldsters in our sixties or more) were in the first room we'd been given, which was on the fifth floor (or, in the US way of counting floors, the sixth), and had appalling amounts of luggage for our 3-4 week trip. The staff did some juggling and moved us down to a first floor room (that is, up just one flight from street level) AND moved our things, down small and twisting stairways, while we were out. (True that it was the hotel's problem that necessitated the change of rooms, but (a) another place might well have declined to change our rooms at all, and (b), having shifted those ^#^%#& bags myself for most of our trip, I know what sort of effort was involved.)

Then, a couple of days later, the air traffic controllers in Paris went on strike, and we had to push back our return flight by two days. La Perle's staff (Stefan, the manager, Anya at the front desk, and several others whose names I unfortunately do not know) went to work, immediately booking us into a room at a nearby affiliated hotel while they waited to see whether any of their own incoming guests would cancel. In the end, they were able to keep us in our same first-floor room for the extra nights, an effort that was *much* appreciated. Your situation will differ, of course, but at La Perle you'll be *very* well taken care of.

This, really, is THE place for us in Paris, and someday we hope to be back...

Room Tip: If you can spend a little extra for an executive room, you'll be glad you did --

Location and wonderful staff make this hotel the perfect place for a stay in Paris. We travel to Paris often and have tried several hotels. La Perle is the BEST and will be our hotel of choice for all future visits. So glad I found this one. Thanks Trip Advisor!

My husband and I stayed at La Perle a few weeks ago (May15-May 20), a choice that was just perfect. Ditto all the other comments about location and lovely, rooms; the staff, however, makes this hotel what it is! Long before our stay, several staff members answered questions for me from across the pond. Thank you Teddy, Anya and Yassin! Breakfast was delicious and elegantly presented.

Room Tip: We had a room that overlooked a patio that was being refurbished. They began around 7:30 in the morn...

Perfectly located in the very heart of Saint Germain des Prés, the Hotel has a human size and people are very friendly and professionnal.
My room was big with a gorgeous bathroom fully equipped and so calm!
It's very clean - The bed is comfortable with plenty of pillows.
I highly recommend this place and I'll return certainly

Room Tip: Try to choose a room not on the Canettes street if possible

I stayed here for several nights over Memorial Day weekend to celebrate my parents birthdays and could not have been more pleased. As other reviewers state, the location is wonderful. The neighborhood is adorable and has many great shops and restaurants. Access to many tourist destinations was easy as well. The staff was lovely and helpful with excellent English. They really get to know you since it's not a large hotel. What surprised me the most was how big the rooms are by Paris standards. I upgraded my parents to the Executive room and it was HUGE. I thought that my standard room would be tiny, but it was a very generous size. The decor was Parisian without being too frilly. Overall: great value, location, staff. Would definitely stay here again.

Room Tip: I stayed in the wing with only 2 rooms per floor and the standard rooom was quite large.

Clean friendly and in a great spot in the 6th. Great value la Perle is in a trendy Parisien spot near St Sulpice and lots of bars and restaurants. Good transport links nearby via M and RER. And only 30mins to la Defense easy from CdG and GdN.
