“Truly a gem!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 15, 2010 via mobile

We have stayed in a superior room for 6 nights and we didn't find anything wrong with the hotel except the little confusion in the shuttle service that the hotel booked for us in advance. We couldn't find the driver who was said to be holding a card bearing the hotel name at the airport. After several phone calls, we managed to find the driver but 45 minutes had passed. Of course, that driver did not hold a card and he was not even waiting in the arrival hall. So, beware if u would like the hotel to arrange for the airport shuttle.

However, things went smoothly after that. The room was spacious that allowed us to open 2 suitcases at the same time. It's clean with nice decor and the fragrant or aroma in the bathroom was pleasant. The best thing in this room to us was the availability of numerous sockets. Good for our chargers and a high ampere professional use hairdryer!!! It's a plesant surprise for us as we'd burnt and melted numerous adaptors and sockets in different hotels all over the world!

Breakfast, price a little steep though, was worth the price as a cup of coffee elsewhere would cost u €4-5.

Service was great and staffs were helpful. The hotel was also very accomodating to our request as to cancel one night's stay in the middle of the booking (originally we had booked for 7 nights but changed our mind as we wished to visit mont saint Michel and spend a night there.) we left our lugguages with the hotel and headed to MSM with light packing. Upon our return, we managed to check in the same room again as per our request. We were quite happy with that arrangement.

Great location as the metro is right in front of the hotel, and a bistro at the adjacent block. Invalides, rue de cler are nearby and tour Eiffel us within 10-15 minutes' walk.

We did not have time for the hamman but did try the massage oil provided for free. Great for alleviating the sore legs!

Well, the room charge of €167 (incl. Tax) per night is quite expensive but we are not sure if we could pay less to get the same quality at some other hotel.

Would recommend it if not travelling on a budget.

We stayed in this hotel for 4 nights in March. I couldn't believe it when we came out of the metro station and the hotel was located right in front of us.
So top marks for location as it was also within walking distance of the Eiffel Tower and we walked back from St Germain area one night after dinner.
The room we were allocated was tiny but still had everything we needed.
On our first night in the hotel, there was a problem with the toilet in our room being constantly in flush mode, making it difficult to sleep.
We were moved to another room and upgraded to a lovely big room at about 2 in the morning.
Unfortunately, we could still hear running water and my hubby was getting cranky from lack of sleep.
The poor guy on reception did his best and was most helpful under difficult circumstances.
I guess the plumbing in these old buildings can be quite tricky as I had difficulty sleeping another night also.
I must say though that every morning we were asked if the room was ok and if we had any problems, and offered another move if we wanted.
The continental breakfast was very good in the lovely surroundings of the basement breakfast room
All in all a good stay, but beware of the plumbing.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights + 2 extra nights thanks to Icelandic volcano. All was very good: great location, very helpful and pleasant staff, charming decor. The only our wishes are: fridge in standard room and possibility to dry the bath robe after hammam.

Location was amazing, 10 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. Metro is across the street. We stayed here for 3 nights then we went to Tourisme Hotel for 5 nights which was cheaper and way better. Supermarket was a 10 minute walk away. Staff was friendly. Bed wasn't that comfortable. Room size was a bit tiny. Washroom had a huge window on the ceiling with no cover or blind. Overall it was okay but not worth the price we paid.

Stayed at this hotel for one night. We chose this because it seemed charming and romantic, especially with the hammam. However the decor and the towels especially were tired. The style is more makeshift than boutique. Also rooms were basic and tiny with no mini bar or even a bottle of water available.

The hammam was more like a dingy hole. It is fronted by a tiny space which has two tired looking machines which make up the 'gym'. All in all I was extremely disappointed and felt ripped off and deceived as the professional pictures online tell a different and more appealing story.

We returned to the Hotel de Latour Maubourg for our third visit. Since we were able to get a good price through their website, I upgraded our room to a superior level. It was the largest room that we have ever stayed in while in Paris. The bathroom was very clean with a nice shower. All the hardware in the bathroom sparkles and appears to be new, so it was noticeable that some of the woodwork in the bathroom needs to be repainted. There really was no view from our room but that was not important to us. The women at the front desk during the day were wonderfully friendly and always helpful. The free access to a computer was also a welcome feature. The breakfast was included in our special price so we ate at the hotel. In past visits, we have eaten breakfast in one of the wonderful restaurants over on Rue Cler.

One of the most important features about this hotel is the location. It is absolutely fantastic! The hotel is located directly across from a metro station. You can get anywhere in Paris easily on the metro. Some of the best restaurants in Paris are right down the street from the hotel. The Eiffel tower is a 10 minute walk from the hotel. Les Invalides and the Rodin museum are a 10 minute walk in the other direction. To really feel as if you are getting the Parisian experience, stay at this lovely little hotel.

Lovely rooms, they're all refreshingly different.
The breakfastroom in the basement is also really charming, and
after a long day out it was nice to come back and use the hammam.
It was our third stay and the staff was lovely as ever. :)
