“Total Paris Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 11, 2011

Been trying to stay here for years, finally got a reservation, a Junior Suite. Delightfully quirky, original and totally Marais. We loved the location, in the center of everything. All the Staff, from the Maids tothe Front Desk went that extra mile and were wonderful. The breakfast in the cellar was amazing. We loved the whole experience so much that we immediately booked for our trip to Paris next year

This is a Parisian boutique hotel on a quaint street right in the centre of the Marais with its endless boutiques, brasseries, galleries and museums. The location is perfect for exploring Paris - the Notre Dame and the Place des Vosges are both easily reachable by foot, and the back of the Pompidou peeps out between the little streets behind the hotel. Our room was more than large by Paris standards, withj wooden beams under the ceiling, a king-size bed, and a very spacious and well-equipped bathroom. The continental breakfast (with eggs to order) was more than adequate. The staf were friendly and informative, and the lobby has free internet service as weall as a big selection of English books. We cannot wait to return

3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 31, 2011

My partner and I stayed at this hotel for four nights in mid-January 2011 and again for one night at the end of January on the night before our flight home. The major asset of this hotel is its location, in the Marais within walking distance of Place des Voges, the Seine, Notre Dame, and the Latin Quarter. We enjoyed the proximity to many gay-friendly businesses and bars. Our room on the top floor was clean and amazingly quiet, although I had to duck to avoid the exposed beams. On the negative side, the carpets throughout the hotel are well-worn and stained and give the whole place an air of shabbiness. The en-suite bathroom was immense by European standards (almost the same size as the bedroom!) so we couldn't understand why it was not fitted with a decent sized proper tub and shower. Instead, there was a tiny tub with a hand-held shower quite out of proportion to the dimensions of the room. We envisaged more ample buttocks than ours easily getting stuck in the narrow tub. The staff were not particularly pleasant or helpful. We arrived earlier than check-in time ( a common occurence arriving in Europe from North America) and without a word of welcome, we were told by the receptionist to put our bags in a luggage room and come back at 1 p.m. This behaviour contrasted badly with our experience at another hotel in Paris a year earlier, where we also arrived early and were given a cup of coffee and told to relax while our room was made up. Upon the check-out from our second stay, I discovered that the rate for the single night was 15 Euros higher than what we had paid for each of the four nights on our first stay. When I asked the receptionist to check the rate from our earlier reservation in the system, she claimed she couldn't find the earlier reservation. The clear implication was that I was lying. She finally found it only after discovering our name had been misspelled. In any case, she refused to give us the lower rate "because it's Saturday." My reaction: cripes, I know it's Saturday, but it's January and your hotel is half empty, and doesn't our loyalty at staying with you twice count for anything? All in all, not a place I would return to, or recommend.

It is a nice, charming hotel, the location is right in the center of Paris. We were in a charming room, which is the middle one in terms of money. It is a big room, but not a cheap one, but in Paris if you want a nice hotel you have to pay, and this one is not that expensive for what you get.

I went for a couple of nights in March 2010 it's a small hotel in a great area of Paris. Rooms are a decent size and the décor is 10 / 10. I found there was a retail shop right next door which would play music though once it hit 18:00 the music stopped besides that the hotel has no other noises. Breakfast was about 10 EURO in a beautiful small joint restaurant downstairs with great croissant, yoghurt, toast, cereal ect with tea or coffee.

Stayed here for three nights. Perfect location. Very clean. Staff were very friendly and helpful and they were more than happy to book restaurants and taxis for us. It really made our stay in Paris very special to be in such a nice hotel. The Marais area is an ideal place to be based for sight-seeing and there are lots of nice restaurants, coffees shops & window shopping within walking distance.

It's a charming hotel, superb location in a lovely district, very helpful staff, and I would highly recommend it.
Lovely warm and comfortable room. Best thing about the hotel was the location, right in the middle of the Marais district, and across the river fom the spectacular Notre Dame.
