“Can definitely recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 27, 2012

The Residence Foch has been newly renovated, so right now, September 2012, it's really attractive. Our room . on the 6th floor, wasn't large, but big enough by Paris standards and the bed was extremely comfortable.. The staff too were very friendly and helpful. Only criticisms, the lift was a tight squeeze for two people plus cases and the breakfast, at 14 Euros
per person, was a bit pricey . The coffee wasn't great either. That apart, you can safely chose this hotel.
If you're not familiar with Paris, it's divided up into districts (called arrondissements).. No 1 is
Ile de La Cite, where you'll find Notre Dame. This hotel is in the 16th, a very upmarket area similar in status to Mayfair in London. (1 million pounds will buy you a small one bedroom flat)
The Arc de Triomphe sits on L'Etoile, which is French for "The Star" and 12 main roads (including the Champs Elysees) form the star shape.. If you look at the map, follow the Avenue Foch from the Arc de Triomphe and two thirds of the way up you will find the Rue Pergolese and off it the Rue Marbeau where you'll find this hotel. Two metro stations are nearby. If you arrive at the Gare du Nord, Porte Dauphine is easily reached by two tubes. Port Maillot is the overground service which will get you to Versailles on two trains. It will also take you directly to Musee d'Orsay, which is a truly fantastic art gallery created out of the old Orsay Railway Station. Here you'll see some of the most famous Impressionist paintings in the world. (If you've arrived by Eurostar, hang on to your ticket. You get two entry tickets for the price of one with it)
The area around the Hotel feels very safe, but it's not an area buzzing with nightlife, so if you want somewhere lively, this is probably not for you. On the other hand, it;s very easy to get to Montmartre from here by Public Transport, so you can get the best of both worlds. The Eiffel Tower, Champs El;ysees etc are also all within easy reach.
There is, however, a terrific bistro Fuxia l'Epicerie on the Avenue Raymond Poincare which we visited twice because it was soo good. Really good food (including vegetarian options) , great staff and a fairly inexpensive meal into the bargain.(We also ate in a restaurant on the Rue Solferino near Musee dOrsay , where the food was expensive and poor quality.
To sum up, a nice friendly hotel in a relatively quiet location.

The absolutly best you can get in Paris for a resonable price. Nice rooms, lovely staff, fantastic location (walking distance to eifel tower and arc de triomphe. The rooms a small, but with everything you need, beds are comfortable, large and modern bathroom. I am convinced, If you want to find anything better in Paris you will pay more than the double price. Thank you to the people there, you made us enjoy our stay very much!

I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Paris. The location is great and our room was stunning. ***** 5 stars for this property! Totally upgraded but retains the charm of yesterday. Located near the Eiffel Tower, the subway is very close by. You can go by subway and train right to the Charles De Gaulle Airport.

Room Tip: This is a quieter area away so I'm sure every room is a good one.

We stayed here for 3 nights in the family suite and it was a wonderful stay. The hotel staff were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. The room was perfect for staying with our 2 young children and was immaculate. The location was perfect for a young family as it is close to the jardin d'acclimitation which is thoroughly recommended. The room was quiet and comfortable. There was so mcuh to do in Paris and we could have happily stayed here a lot longer. Thank you to all the staff for making our stay perfect.

Room Tip: All the rooms have been refurbished in May this year and having stayed in a family room and one for...

We stayed at the Hotel Residence Foch in September 2012 for four nights. I was looking for a nice, but reasonably priced hotel which was near metro access but located in a reatively quiet neighborhood - away from the tourist hot spots. Based on overwhelmingly positive reviews on Tripadvisor for the Hotel Foch - in particular, regarding great customer service - I decided to give this hotel a shot.

As for the location, it certainly is in a quiet and upscale residential neighborhood - nearby to several embassies, in fact - and a short 4-5 block walk to a metro station. (Paris has a fine subway system, so you can pretty much get anywhere once you figure out the metro lines) It's also a 15 minute walk from the Arc de Triomphe and the north end of the famous Champs-Elysees.

This boutique hotel has a charming, yet modern design. The room itself was on the small side, to be expected in Paris, but it had nice design touches that did well with the small space. Our room - which was on the third floor - also had two windows which opened to nice flower baskets and a view of the beautiful buildings across the street. It did not have a balcony that you could walk out on to - but I believe other rooms on higher floors may. The room was great, but the only complaint was a shower design that left water on the bathroom floor after each shower no matter how hard we tried to avoid it.

The highlight of this hotel - very much in line with the reviews that I'd read online - was the staff. Each of them were incredibly friendly - quick to offer aid in terms of planning intineraries, helping to interpret a French-only website for us so we could buy museum tickets online, lending an umbrella or any other requests. And, they always offered help with a smile and pleasant demeanor.

It is a specific decision as to whether or not you want to be nearer to certain landmarks or if you prefer to be in a bustling or hip neighborhood. Admittedly, I would probably try another neighborhood for a change if we were to return - but, if you prefer to be a little bit out of the way for some peace at night yet near metro access to the rest of the city - I would certainly recommend the Hotel Residence Foch.

We stayed in Room 71, right at the top of the hotel. The room was gorgeous with great personality not like the typical chain hotels. Bathroom fixtures and fittings were all high end and very clean, the shower was huge. On the first night it took us 45min to get back to the hotel as we got off near the Arc de Triomphe but once we found out that Porte Maillot was our closet metro it only took 10mins... it pays to ask. I would definitely recommend this hotel, but due to the location not a place where you can come back during the day to drop things off. Lastly to reiterate a previous reviewer the beds and pillows were super comfortable... similar to 5* luxury.

i haven't been back to Paris going on 2 years but stayed at this hotel a couple of times in 2010 and early 2011-meant to write a review earlier but its better late than never.
the location is good- close to the subway several nice cafes and eateries.the hotel back then was quaint, homely even with enough ambiance to differentiate it form the throngs of three star establishments which promise to offer what they never do-rooms were comfortable, bathrooms large and well laid out(I read the recent reviews the rooms have been renovated to make it even more accommodating since )the breakfasts adequate but what makes this hotel different is the people who work there and Nellie of course who treat each traveler as a returning friend.stayed for business and on holiday and never regretted it-one of the other reviews described it as a a first and only choice if you found yourself in this lovely city-i would tend to agree-it has something i described as "cosy"for want of a better word....
