We picked the Hotel les Dames du Pantheon because of it's location, availability of a room and reviews on Trip Advisor. When we arrived at the hotel we were shown 2 possible rooms both on the top floor and chose the larger of the two. The room was not large by American hotel standards but was a nice size for a European hotel. It has a fantastic view out of either of 2 windows. The bed was comfortable and the bathroom had good water pressure. The tub/shower combo could be slippery which we learned to watch out for. I mentioned it to the hotel manager who said they were scheduling to have the tub bottoms have a slip resistance covering installed in the near future. Another thing that was a little worrisome was the way the hallway opened into the stairs. I will include a picture of this below. I was always reminding myself and my wife to be careful when we got out of the elevator and walked to our room. Closet space was very limited and we had to ask for additional hangers which were given to us. There were not enough drawer space for a week's stay. I don't think they get a lot of people staying for a week. Instead of nightstand, there were small tables on either side of the bed that didn't have any drawers.
The worse problem I had with the hotel was that when we checked in we asked about a portable hot spot device they had displayed on the desk. I asked about it and they said it would be 10 euros a day. I decided I didn't want to pay the extra money so we didn't get one. After we had been there 4 days I had time to check our original reservation and found out that we were supposed to have one included with our room. I pointed this out to the management and they gave us one for the last 3 days. It came in handy during our site seeing and I wished I had it during the whole stay. I feel it should have been the responsibility of the hotel staff when registering guests to make sure they get what they have paid for.
The hotel is expensive but then what hotel in Paris isn't. The location is very good and within walking distance of many sites. Would I go back to it if and when I return to Paris, probably not. Generally the staff was knowledgeable, spoke English and was friendly and helpful All in all it wasn't a bad stay but enough wasn't "perfect" which is why I am writing this less than favorable review.
