“Perfect for weekend trip to Paris”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 27, 2012

This hotel is a very nice 3 star with an excellent location. Seconds away from an RER station with trains direct to CDG, a short walk to the Pantheon, Sorbonne, and Notre Dame, and walkable to the Louvre. It has free wifi that only worked half of the time. Reception was small but staff were very helpful. On a lower level there is some street noise (I stayed on the 2nd floor) but the beds were very comfortable and the bathroom was a good size for Paris. Breakfast was 12.50 euros and sufficient but very good restaurants were close by. I would absolutely recommend this hotel for its location.

Room Tip: Chose a lower for to receive the wifi signal.

Typical hotel for the area, small reception area and very small lift. Close to RER, free wifi. Clean and friendly hotel, comfortable beds. Hotel has recently been redecorated and had a comfortable & undisturbed nights sleep. Breakfast was extra to the room rate

Only 30 metres to the Luxembourg metro...... perfect downhill walk to Notre Dame, San Chapelle and the Seine. 200 metres to the Pantheon.
Typical small bedrooms but clean, quiet and attentive.
Good restaurants very handy.

I have stayed at the Elysa Lux many times and did so recently in mid-October 2012. The hotel's location, adjacent to the marvelous Luxembourg Gardens park and atop an RER train station (direct access to and from CDG airport), with an easy walk to many attractions, is wonderful. I highly recommend that you reserve and pay for the "Superior" rooms - these renovated rooms are generous in size and have modern, well-equipped bathrooms. The non-Superior rooms are not nearly as nice. Beds are comfortable and the WiFi signal was OK but supplied through a 3rd party web site that I had to re-register on each day of my stay. The hotel has a tiny but necessary elevator. The breakfast buffet is generous, consisting of the usual European items (yogurt, cold cuts, cheeses, eggs, cereal, etc.), but at 12 EU/day I have found it cheaper to breakfast at the Le Cercle cafe across the street. The #27 bus, with stops right in front of the hotel, takes you to and from the Louvre Museum and within walking distance of the Orsay Museum and other tourist sites. The hotel is right next to the Sorbonne University and it's a college-town neighborhood, so there are lots of interesting bars, cafes, and stores nearby. The Pantheon is right up the street and the trendy St. Germain Boulevard - Latin Quarter is an easy walk. I brought my two daughters here when they were 10 and 13 and we had a great time, so I can recommend the Elysa Lux for families as well as couples and solos. Good value for the money and highly recommended.

Room Tip: It's worht it to reserve and pay a little more for the "Superior" rooms on the top flo...

Not really understanding the 4 star review this hotel is getting!

Granted, it is next to the Luxembourg RER, which is makes it very convenient to visit Paris or to go to CDG airport or the Villepinte Parc des Expositions.

Second positive point: the room and bathroom, albeit very small, were very clean. Kudo's to the cleaning crew!

Now, the terrible points:

- EXTREMELY noisy. Though I requested a quiet room and was assured the room would be on the "good side" I got a room on the 6th floor right above the major avenue in the area. No double-paned windows. Did not sleep more than 4 hours!
- I tried to catch up in the morning after an early meeting, being jet lagged et al, but the hotel is going through some construction work and this was simply impossible
- WIFI? If you want to work while away this is NOT a place for you! On the 6th floor the internet is extremely slow and keep going down. Re-connecting takes major efforts and a totally zen attitude.

Would absolutely never go back to this hotel.

We are seniors who travelled with our 17 year old grandaughter for a month through 4 European countries and this hotel was a great ending to our trip. Good size room for 3 with great location by Metro and RER . The bonus was a lovely concert in the Luxembourg Gardens Sunday afternoon right close to the hotel. The breakfasts were lovely; Hotel staff couldn't have been more helpful..We will definitely return to this hotel.

Hotel is based next to metro and close to Paris Centre, the room was nice and clean with a lovely view on the main road. Service was great considering Paris was a mixed bag when it came to customer service. Overall a good a eperience!
