We (husband and I) stayed for 2 nights in early October 2013. Loved the location - easy to walk to the Seine, Eiffel Tower, etc. Lots of families in the area so seemed safe and comfortable. Enjoyed being just around the corner from Rue Cler where we enjoyed the cafes, patisserie, etc. The room was small but comfortable and clean. The shower design, with the end being open, meant there was water on the floor after a shower but just used our towels to clean it up.
Biggest problem happened on the 2nd evening (and the last night of our 2 week vacation) when we returned to our room (#502). Upon entering the room, we were met with an awful sulphuric/sewer type of smell. It was unbearable so we immediately went to the Front Desk to tell the staff. After telling the young man there, he said he'd come up with some air freshener. We replied that we didn't think that would be enough and weren't comfortable sleeping in the room with fumes like that. I suggested he could move us to another room - he said that they were full so that wasn't possible. I replied that we were not going to sleep in that room so they had better come up with a solution. He said he'd contact his Manager and would drop up in a few minutes.
We returned to the room and opened the door and window. This helped a bit but as soon as we closed them, the smell got stronger again. About 25 minutes later, the man knocked on the door and came in to speak to us. Turns out they had another room they could move us to, so we said that would be fine. We asked if they'd had this problem in this room before and he said they had (so don't take that room if you stay here). Seems to me they should fix the problem and in the meantime, don't put guests in there. The young man handled the problem fairly well and we were pleased with the new room.
I'd probably stay in the Hotel again although there were some others on the same street that looked quite nice so I would consider those as well. We didn't eat in the hotel restaurant so I can't comment on that. The staff arranged a private car service to take us to the CDG Airport - cost about 60 euros. Driver was very polite and friendly - we had a great conversation with him (in French) and was on time.
Don't get room #502!!

Thank you for taking the time to share the details of your stay. We are thrilled to hear that you enjoyed the location of the hotel and the cleanliness of the rooms. We are very sorry for the inconveniences you experienced during your stay, especially, for the smell in you room. We had already faced this kind of problem with plumbing systems, caused by heavy rain. The plumber repaired it but obviously it didn’t work well. We noted your comment, we are always ready to improve the service in order to better satisfy our clients, this time we would like to assure you that the problem was completely resolved. We really appreciate your feedback. We hope to see you again soon.
