“Absolutely wonderful!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 5, 2013

I just came back from Paris yesterday (jan-04-13) after staying at this hotel for a week and 1 day. Ever since I made the reservation the customer service was amazing; from helping me with my private airport shuttle to just answering general doubts. When we arrived to the hotel, it was 10am (check in is @ 3) so we left our bags in the luggage room and proceeded to walk around the area. The rooms are just as you see in the pics, clean, modern and tidy. Breakfast from the hotel is nice, but a bit pricey for what you get. Use it in case of emergency. The hotel has a supermarket directly in front, and a couple eating places around (we went ti Cafe Central and Diner at Bedford Ave Brooklyn). I would recommend this hotel for couples or small families. The area is SUPER safe, we walked around it everyday late at night, and ever wandered into taking the metro everyday. If you need more info, you can PM me for my entire review.

Room Tip: I stayed at room 205 :) loved it.

If you are looking for a boutique-style hotel close to the Eiffel Tower, metro station, with lots of options of very good restaurants and bars (rue Cler) to visit at night after a day of touring in Paris, this hotel is for you! The rooms are not big, but really cosy and nicely decorated. The bathroom size is OK, the only issue is the tiny shower - if you are tall or a bit overweight, taking a shower is not going to be that pleasant.
Breakfast is good but offers everyday the same options, so my recomendation is to try it once and then explore other cafés/brasseries in Paris.
I would definitely stay here again.

Dear guest!

Thank you very much for your friendly post! Despite the size of the rooms, we try to do everything to make them comfortable and practical. We will see if it will be possible to vary the breakfast menu in order to offer a bigger choice especially for guests who are staying for many days. We will be happy to welcome you soon!

Many reviews I read here are expressions of bitter resentment about "the typical Parisian hotel" where visitors are destined to be given that surly welcome at the desk, will go up to their grimy rooms in cramped elevators, be jostled off their beds by sunrise by the gruffy cleaning lady, and be charged the price of a Dom Perignon for a bottle of Evian.

Well, Hotel du Cadran at the 7eme is there to completely alter your views. Checking in was a breeze --all smiles and genuine hospitality: would you care to taste some of our macaroones here? did you enjoy your flight from Washington? do you care for some coffee while you wait a litte while for your room to be ready? oh the bank is just around the corner...

The room was a bit small but impeccably clean, with an ample supply of towels and amenities almost beyond our need, and coffee. A bottle of Cremant de Bourgogne in a silver ice bucket and flute glasses were waiting for us in our room when we were back late one night, with a sweet little note from the hotel staff thanking us for staying at Hotel du Cadran.

It is a very neighborly hotel in a very livable quartier adorned with a marketplace, quaint little restaurants, cafes, and many tempting boulangeries and patisseries. It is also a non-touristy area, yet in proximity to notable sights like the Eiffel, les Invalides, and the Trocadero, and even walkable to bd. St. Germain or to av. Champs Elysees.

Thank you, Hotel du Cadran and its wonderful staff for making our nth annual visit of Paris in December 2012 such a delight! And see you in 2013.

Room Tip: They have two buildings under the same management and run by one common front desk. The main buildin...

Dear guest!
We are happy that you liked the charm and style of our hotel and that you found the staff friendly. It is always good to know that our clients consider the location of our hotel as ideal to explore Paris and its monuments and attractions. We are glad as well that you appreciated the bottle of Cremant – real French sparkling wine! We hope to see you soon!
Best wishes,
Cadran Staff

We rented three rooms with two adjoining for our family of four with tow kids (8 & 10) and my mother-in-law. We are Dutch but live in the US so we came on the train with my elderly mother-in-law from Amsterdam. The service at the hotel was outstanding and completely attentive. The rooms were super clean. The location is excellent about 2 blocks from the metro and loads of nearby restaurants, shops, etc. You can get away from the super-touristy ones if you look. The breakfast was fantastic if you are traveling with two kids and a senior - something for everyone eggs, breads, spreads, decent coffee, fresh fruit, etc. One night my son vomited all over the bed and the gentleman at the front desk was so quick to help us at 3 AM. Five-star service like a 4-seasons hotel. Would stay here again and would recommend to a friend. A good hotel for non-French speaking travelers.

We recently stayed here for 3 nights & would not recommend this hotel. Have stayed in others in Paris which are much better.

CON's
By far the biggest problem is the noise, we could hear everything from the other rooms - hearing others snoring kept us awake every night which was extremely irritating!!
The room is absolutely tiny even for Paris standards
Shower - I couldnt stand the shower, tiny cubicle which has no screen, water sprays everywhere & u couldnt get the head in the right position, its either bursting directly into your face or you have to have it hand held
No clock in the room & u only get 2 small glasses. There isnt even a hotel guide with info such as checkout times, facilities etc
First day housekeeping didnt replace our bathmat & second day we didnt get any replacement glasses
Safe was tiny, whats the point of having a room with a room safe if u cant even fit a tablet in it!
Lighting - they have some fancy lighting system which is just ridiculous, too many buttons, you cant just switch a light on & off. Couldnt even have the bedside light on by itself without having a light across the top of the bed on

PRO's
Wireless internet was good & fast
Can open the window
Location is close to metro, cafes, supermarket aross the road etc
The diner across the road does an excellent breakfast

Would not stay here again!

Stay here! I have been in Paris for four times and this is the first time that I can recommend a hotel!
We walked to the Eiffel tower every night!
We went with our 5 year old and we loved that there was a market next door where we could buy water, wine, crackers, cheese, etc
You are next to rue cler where you can buy from wine to baguet!
Walking distance to restaurants and metro!
The only thing that I didn't like was the shower! There is no separation between the shower and toilette, all the floor gets wet:(
