This hotel is dreadful, we are in the 21st century yet it does not have wireless in their rooms! Woke on Thursday morning to discover no hot water, tried t call to reception and they did not bother to pick the phone up! My recommendation to anyone who wants a decent hotel in Paris, avoid this over priced crap hole!

This hotel needs serious upgrade and customer service training. The first thing that you will notice when you enter the hotel is the odd set up of having the reception area in the 2nd floor. The doorman offered to get our luggages though, so we were thankful for it. When we reached the 2nd floor, we noticed their modern reception area -- which made us think that we did the right thing in booking the hotel. However, we were dismayed when we reached our room. It was outdated and dirty. The toilet is separate from the shower room. There was no closet - it only has a bar to hang our clothes on and space underneath it to put our luggages. The carpet was also very dusty and FILTHY. We used slippers all the time. We used the white slipper that we got from another hotel that we stayed at prior to coming to Paris and it turned brownish after 2 days. You can also see food stains on it. I didn’t allow my son to play or crawl in the carpet – which he wasn’t very happy about. The customer service was also very poor. On our first night we noticed that it was chilly in our room, we called for maintenance person to check it out after attempting to adjust it ourselves, we followed twice and no maintenance person showed up despite them confirming twice that someone is on its way already. So we were too tired to keep following up so we just covered ourselves with blankets – which by the way didn’t look clean also. My friend used the sofa bed, which she had to cover with bath towels as it smells. On our last day, we requested for fork and bread knife – nothing arrived despite them confirming that we will send it over to our room. The hotel description/picture was also trying to make it seem that its close to the Eiffel tower – its not you will have to walk less than 20 minutes or take a cab and pay 8 or 10 euros. We also couldn’t see the tower from the hotel so not sure why their picture showed as if you can see it from the hotel room. All in all, we are very dissatisfied. This is not something that you would expect from a 4-star hotel. We will never go back to this hotel again and we will advise our friends to stay away from this hotel.

Dear Guest,

I would like to thank you personally for your feedback, which gives us the opportunity to improve our services on a daily basis.

First of all I would like to say that I am really sorry we did not meet your expectations. I have taken into consideration your remarks about the cleanliness of the carpet and the maintenance problem in your room. Be assured that this is not the level of service we are normally so proud to deliver. Concerning the view, some rooms have an Eiffel Tower view, others a view on the Seine river or on the City of Lights.

There is a Duty Manager from 7am until 11pm who is glad to assist you if any issue arises and I am sorry you have not had the opportunity to meet one.
I do hope that, despite these issues, you enjoyed Paris.

Sincerely,

Denis Gauthier

The Novotel Paris Tour Eiffel is a big hotel, located within a 10 min walk from the Eiffel tower (and the underground station). Location is good and safe.

At our arrival the escalator was out of order. Apparently the only way to reach the reception from the main entrance. Personnel offered us to help with the luggage though. Check-in was professional and smooth.
Although we booked a twin room at a highly discounted rate, we received a nice room at one of the top floors. The view was great. Rooms have the typical Novotel style, but nothing wrong with that. All comfort we needed was present.
We did not use any food facilities of the hotel, so I cannot comment on that. There is a big Monoprix supermarket behind the hotel.
Big asset of the hotel: one of the few hotels in the city centre of Paris with an indoor swimming pool (swim cap obligatory but available for free). Also sauna access was included.

Overall value was very good, especially because we could book this hotel through the Accor website at 50% discount!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing the Novotel Paris Tour Eiffel!

I am glad to hear you describe your check-in as excellent and smooth and that you appreciated that the personnel helped you with your luggage. We are indeed proud to have an inside swimming pool which indeed is rare in Paris. It is for free for our guests as well as the access to the sauna.

I hope we will have the opportunity to welcome you back in the near future!

Yours sincerely,

Denis Gauthier

I decided to stay in this hotel because of its location, close to a venue I had to be. Only in that sense it was what I wanted, because the hotel itself is very disappointing. Certainly not 4 star, 3 star at best, and probably one of the most uninspired hotels you can imagine. The Tour Eiffel is much further away than the name of the hotel suggests and the biggest let down is that there is no wifi in the rooms. The free wifi in the lobby was hardly accessible and too slow.

Windows don't open, so no fresh air.

What was good is that there is complimentary water and coffee and tea in the room and the shower was of good quality.

Otherwise not recommended: the management of this hotel are clearly very uninspired and nothing should tempt you to stay here.

Dear Guest,

I have read your comment with great attention as we are always interested in improving our services.

I am sorry that you describe the hotel as bland and you did not like the atmosphere. Concerning the Internet, be assured that we take in consideration your demand of wifi in the room. It is one of our projects for 2013.
For your information, the windows do not open as this is forbidden by the French law for buildings of this height. There is an A/C system with allows to refresh the air in the room.

I am glad that you appreciated the complimentary products in the room as well as the shower and hope that overall you had a great stay in Paris.

Sincerely,

Denis Gauthier

Hotel was very clean and good rooms, but as we were in a group the evening meal was set and it was not very good in fact the portions were appalling, plus the staff did not like being asked for items. The breakfasts were good and a variety was available.Would not recommend for half board,

This was a surprise get away for my birthday. And it was a lovely surprise! This was simply a base for us, as we were spending alot of the weekend out exploring. I think it is in a great location. The room was comfortable, had no problems. It is not far from the Eiffel Tour, and there is a metro station not far. I would come back again :-)
