“Good rooms; service can be better”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 14, 2013

Stayed over for 5 nights for the last leg of our Europe tour. We liked the room for its cleanliness and big windows. There were ample walking space after the luggages were opened and sleep quality was good. The hotel is located in close proximity (5mins walk) to St. Honore, good choice to stay for heavy shoppers.

We however found the walking distance to the nearest train station too long, approx. 10mins. It is located along a small street, so you would have to walk to the Main Street to find
cabs.

The service we received was mixed, the female receptions were much friendlier and more helpful. The guys however, were cold and unapproachable. We misplaced our map and approach the desk the next day to ask on directions to the nearest supermarket. The male reception almost made us feel stupid for asking a second time.

The hotel helped arranged for a cab to CDG airport on our checkout day. Pls take note the cab meter as advised by the hotel, starts running on its way to the hotel. Our cab arrived 10mins before scheduled time and the meter was already 10plus euros when we boarded the cab. I am not sure if this is the common practice but I doubt it is fair to levy additional fares on the passenger if they arrived way ahead of scheduled timing? This would not be an issue if you are staying at a hotel with cabs queues.

We booked a room at the alison based on pictures on the net
We got a room which was small and terrile but no other rooms available.
We had a baby and 3 luggages and could jot open them on the floor all at once.
Had to open the, one at a time. Hassle

Room was infront of a school and children screaming all day. Be prepared to keep windows closed. We were 20mins away briskwalking from champs elyesee which was not described in the website. Website mentioned along champs elysee
I feel a bit let down and taken advantage of.

Make sure to ask all questions before checking in. Staff however were friendly and helpful.
I would not recommend staying here unless you like taking long walks to ahmps elyesee

Room Tip: Make sure you get the room you choose in the picture.dont settle for anything else.

We stayed here for 3 nights in Sept & really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is centrally located to everything. The rooms are small but they serve its purpose. The bed is comfy, the room has A/C, the bathroom was updated & we had a balcony overlooking the street. There is a school across the street but you would never know it unless the windows are open. We had breakfast at the hotel 2 mornings & enjoyed it. Pretty basic, croissant, baguette, jam, cheese, OJ, coffee, yogurt & apple sauce, for 11€. There is free wifi in the hotel & it works awesome in the rooms. The staff was very friendly, and helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Paris.

Stayed here for 3 nights in late August. Overall I had a good experience. I find the room size reasonable for the price they charged. I stayed in the cheapest room which faces the front and with a french balcony. Room is quiet as it faces a small road with very little traffic. There is a tiny fridge in the room but no kettle tho u can borrow that from the recep. Bathroom is clean n spacious with a bathtub. The staff on duty were friendly and helpful except for one guy who was on night duty on one of the nights. We returned at 9+pm and usually by 9pm they would lock the front door and we have to press the bell for them to unlock the door. But on this night the recep only locked one side of the door. not knowing this (after failing to push open the locked side of the door) we press the bell waiting for for this guy who was at the recep to open the door. However he jus ignored us and continue sitting at the recep. We could see him through the door which was full glass. After we knocked and pressed the bell for a long time he jus looked up at us without doing anything. After another long attempt, he acknowledged us but again he did not do anything. Then one of us realised that one side of the door was unlocked and we went in. He acted as if nothing happened and we were so pissed with him. He could had signalled to us to push the door and we would had understood. Bad attitude from him! Lucky we only saw him on duty once.
There are lots of cafes selling cheap breakfast in the area. The bagel shop next door were manned by lovely people who speaks good english and they open at 8.30. Another 2 doors down is another little cafe that sells sandwiches and salads. At the corner of the road leading to the hotel, there is a bakery cum cafe which also serves breakfast n lunch.
The metro is only 5 mins away. I took the Riossy bus from the airport to opera and walked to the hotel in 10 mins. A taxi to Gare du Nord cost around €12 and took 15 mins. We walked from the hotel to Champ Elysee and Arc de Triomph in 20 mins. All the luxury stores such as Chanel, Hermes, Kenzo, Dior and many more are only 1 min away. So it is in a very convenient location for both sightseeing and shopping!

I stayed at this little hotel for 3 nights. I was given a single room, right next to the elevator. The lift in this hotel is extremely loud, I mean I woke up at 6 AM every single day, when guests from all 6 floors started using it, and it was impossible to go back to sleep with that noise. It was like someone was banging with a hammer every 2 minutes right next to my ear. I would know where exactly the lift was, what floor and if it was coming up or going down. The hotel seems a bit dated as well (especially the bathroom), still I would say it has a character and is OK for a short city break if you do not have a lot of expectations. I guess it's location is perfect, 10-15 mins walking distance to famous sites. But due to the very loud elevator, I would not recommend it to solo travelers.

I went to Paris with my 2 children, mid week in August. We chose hotel Alison for the price and we were happy with it overall.

The hotel is located on a street that is somewhat dead, but very safe. Its quiet and there is not much traffic.

The reception was very nice and spoke perfect English.

My room was a decent size and in good condition. My room faced the interior courtyard, which was tiny but fine. The bed was very comfortable.

The hotel is a bit outdated, but fine. There are no flat screen tvs or fancy things, but its a comfortable place to stay.

The location, as I mentioned, is dead. Its near some government offices and some very high priced shops. So everything around it is closed all the time.

The breakfast is lovely, but completely overpriced. I would skip it.

We went to Paris for a five day stay, our travel agent put us in a dive miles away from the centre of Paris. We left in search of a new place to stay, we were blessed to come accross Hotel Alison, we explained what had happened to us on our first experience of Paris. We booked a family room and went back to get our stuff, on our return they hotel management had placed our daughter in her own room with full bathroom facilities and also gave us a beautiful room as a couple, both rooms looked out onto the street. Its a completely central hotel and very clean and lovely people run it. I would advise having breakfast at the hotel as its a lot more expensive to do so in Paris. The location and atmosphere of the hotel really ensured we had an amazing time.

Room Tip: Eat breakfast at the hotel, and use the Metro to get to and from the Airport is all very central to...
