“Great boutique hotel in a very good location”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2013

After all the reviews we arrived here at the hotel with great expectations, we were checked in shown swiftly to our room . Huge patterned wallpaper it overlooked a small square. The room had all mod cons with a great shower ,nespresso coffee maker and ipod speaker. The breakfasts were brilliant but the tables far too small for all the crockery. It would be nice to get capuchins but this was the only niggle. The real plus point were the staff especially the concierge who was outstanding and so helpful especially when the aircon was not operating properly.. After our 2 days we had realised what a great stay this was comfortable not too expensive and brilliant helpful staff. .

We stayed at Maison Favart at the beginning of May. We chose it for its central location, size, and top ratings. This was our first trip to France and we needed the extra amenities that Maison Favart offered without getting lost in the crowd of a large hotel. Arriving in Paris from our flight at 7 in the morning, we needed a place to hold our luggage until check-in time. I had emailed ahead of our trip to confirm the luggage could be kept until later in the day; that was no problem. What a relief to not have to lug baggage around until check in time! Since, we arrived so early in the day, they worked very hard to have our room available earlier than regular check in time; we both needed a nap from the jet lag. All of the staff was so helpful making Restaurant recommendations and giving directions around town. I needed their help confirming reservations I had made online from home and they quickly helped with that. It rained often while we were there and although we had a small travel umbrella they had a stand with many umbrellas at the front door, to lend out for walking and to use when going out to get into a car. The Hotel was clean and very quiet, and we loved the location; walking to every must see site in town. Walking around Paris gave us time to see and experience more of the city. We loved the size of Maison Favart not too big to be lost in a crowd but big enough to have many luxury services we needed traveling so far from home. Comparing the room prices to other Paris hotels, we thought the Hotel was a good value. It inspired us to write our fist review on Trip Advisor which we used often and very heavily for our Paris trip. We can't thank the Staff enough for their kindness and helpfulness during our five night stay. Because of them, we are already talking of returning to Paris for another visit and we will definitely stay at Maison Favart.

We were looking forward to our stay here with all the great reviews. The hotel was nicely kept and the room was clean, the bathrooms newly and beautifully renovated, the pool area looked great. All appearances were good. The staff were friendly and helpful but never went out of their way to make your stay 'an experience'. I expected a lot more from the reviews and the price point. Service was a little none existent. The tea and coffee were not replenished and that was annoying. The machine was very nice though. We forgot our plugs to convert the round prongs to flat north American and they kindly lent us two. If we left something charging in the day the power was turned off after they serviced our room so the charger wouldn't finish. We stayed 7 nights and when we left at 5 am we got a call to let us know our taxi was at the front but no offer to come and collect the luggage and no one even came out to say good bye, that was very odd. Luckily we did not get locked out with our bags inside while we were lugging our baggage in the lobby as the doors lock behind you at that time of day! We checked out the night before which was good and they asked that we make sure we bring down the 2 plugs that they lent us. After spending close to 4,000 euros they were worried about 2 plugs and couldn't even get them from the room when I asked if we could just leave them in the room. That is what I mean about service. We had just come from London and stayed at Hotel 41 where the service was like nothing I have ever seen and it was so disappointing coming here right after such an amazing stay at another boutique hotel where they showed you what service really is. I suggest the owners take a trip to Hotel 41 and see for themselves. The staff was very nice but at the end they are just regular staff, it makes me think that the owners are not very involved. I hope the hotel sees this review and looks into what they can do to make their guests feel special.

Dear Madam, Dear Sir,
We thank you kindly for taking the time to write a review on TripAdvisor following your stay with us earlier this month.
Your comment is very much taken to heart. It is most disappointing that you received an inappropriate service before your departure and I wish to apologize for the inconveniences caused to you.
The night receptionist who worked during this night started to work with us only a few days ago and unfortunately was not yet used to all the welcome procedures of our hotel.
Let me assure you that I have personally reviewed this point with the team concerned so as to take immediate action. This is certainly not the stay experience we wish our residents to have.
I do hope that you will select again La Maison Favart on your next visit. Please do contact me directly and I will personally oversee your stay.
Yours Sincerely,
Stéphanie Richez

We really liked this intimate hotel on a back street that was close enough to everything but quiet at the same time. Haveing the plunge pool for a wallow and the sauna after a hectic day out and about was really nice as well. We stayed in a classic room which was small but did its job - ideal as a single but tight for two people. If we were re-visiting we would defiitely suggest going for a de luxe room which is just a little bigger.

The breakfast seemed quite expensive we were reading up on it in advance but actually was pretty good value compared to some options.

Room Tip: GO for de luxe not classic

Excellent small, quiet and stylish hotel, just 1 minute walk from Boulevard des Italiens with its restaurants and shops, within walking distance from the Louvre and Grand Opera, with very friendly staff. We're a family of four (my wife and I + our 9yr old daughter + her grandmother), stayed there in May 2013. We had booked 2 rooms: one De Luxe with the Opera Comique view and one standard (requested the same floor). Arrived around noon, both rooms were ready, and we were offered an upgrade - instead of the standard room we got another De Luxe on the same floor as the first one, but with the courtyard view. Both rooms were clean and very quiet, but the one without the view was quite dark - it actually faces the wall. That was probably the only nuisance - everything else was superb, most importantly - great service and quietness. Would definitely stay there again and would recommend to friends. Dmitry & Yulya (Moscow, Russia).

Room Tip: Make sure you ask for the Opera view when booking a De Luxe room
