“Always a pleasure to come "home"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 25, 2012

We just have stayed 4 nights at La Maison Favart during one of our business trip in Paris in November.

We were staying in the suite "Les Toits de l'Opera" which really lived up to his name. The room was very originally shaped due to the roofs in order to optimize the use of the space.
The bathroom is tiny but offers spectacular views on Paris. The decoration is very romantic with beautiful red curtains and the bedroom was a real love nest on the top floor of this suite.

The staff was always very friendly, available, helpful - making you feel really at home and ready to help for any requests you may have.

We find the location very practical as situated in the center of Paris with easy connections with the tube and within walking distance of POI such as Le Louvre, L'Opéra, Place Vendôme or Faubourg St Honoré. There are also fantastic and good value for money Japanese restaurant in the Rue St Anne (5 minutes walk).

We definitely recommend La Maison Favart for your stay in Paris.

We chose La Maison Favart Hotel because of the reviews on Tripadvisor and because it was relatively inexpensive for a hotel of this quality in Paris (we booked directly through the hotel).

From the moment our taxi pulled-up at the front door and we were immediately greeted by the friendly staff, our luggage whisked away whilst we were seated and offered drinks during the check-in process in the beautiful lobby area I knew we had chosen the right hotel for our five nights stay in Paris.

Our room on level 5 overlooking the Comique Opera Square was beautifully furnished and larger than we had anticipated. It was L-shaped with separate bathroom (my husband only wished he could take the shower-head home) and WC and had plenty of room for our four suitcases plus hanging space in the wardrobe for coats etc. It was bright, airy (large windows could be opened), spotless, with an extremely comfortable bed, had tea and coffee making facilities and free internet.

Staying at La Maison Favart meant we had the personal service of an upmarket b&b with the facilities of a much larger hotel. The staff always greeted us whenever we were in the lobby area asking what our plans were; how our day had been etc. Nothing seemed to be a problem for them. They were always ready to make suggestions about places to visit and recommended and made reservations for us for dinner one night at a nearby restaurant "Le Chenin" which was a wonderful experience.

We tried breakfast a couple of days at local cafes but kept returning to the one at the hotel. It was served in a small, beautifully appointed dining area and the food was absolutely delicious and only a couple of Euros dearer than the cafes.

In all, we can't recommend La Maison Favart highly enough and haven't stopped raving about it to our friends. It made our stay in Paris so special. We have no hesitation in saying that it is where we will stay next time we visit Paris.

This hotel was a pure joy in every way. The decor is unique, charming, modern, lovely. Our room was spotless with a fabulous shower and very, very comfy bed. Pretty quite outside too. The staff was incredibly friendly, attentive, helpful. The location is superb for sightseeing and walking everywhere. They have a cute gym with a spa like vibe, a gorgeous "blue-grotto feeling" little pool and a sauna. Top notch all around. I have only wonderful things to say and would not hesitate for one second in booking this hotel if you are considering it.

Room Tip: Rooms are small but lovely. They upgraded our room, but it was still pretty tight. The high ceilings...

We had an outstanding stay at the La Maison Favart Hotel. The staff was very friendly and helpful; our French is not great, so we appreciated that everyone spoke English. The hotel is beautiful throughout, the room had all modern amenities, and the bed was one of the most comfortable we've ever experienced. The great location is an easy walk to the Opera House and metro stops on three different lines. A 15 minute walk to the Louvre, a 15 minute metro ride to the Eiffel Tower, and down the street from countless restaurants and shops. When we travel back to Paris, we plan to return to the La Maison Favart.

We chose this hotel almost solely because of its ranking on Trip Advisor. I felt that it really wasn't too expensive at all for the rating it had. We stayed for 3 nights this November and have just got home. We arrived at the Gare du Nord about 10 am Paris time, and walked to the hotel, which probably took about half an hour. We had already checked that the hotel would look after our bags until check in time. This was extremely helpful, as I wasn't overly enthralled with the idea of storing them in lockers at the station. When we returned later on, we checked in and Hakim showed us to our room and showed us where everything was and how it worked. We saw Hakim predominantly throughout our stay and he was always extremely friendly and helpful. I had also been in touch with the hotel beforehand to find out if they could sort some flowers etc for my partner's 30th birthday - they arranged some roses and a card for an extremely reasonable price.

We were delighted with our room (37). Everything appeared freshly decorated, and was very clean and stylish. The room was so comfortable, although relatively small, I gather this is pretty standard for Paris, and we really weren't at all bothered about the size. There was still plenty of room to walk about the bed, with a desk and chairs. The bathroom was a good size, with a huge walk in shower.

The hotel is perhaps a 2 minute walk from the nearest Metro station, and about a 10-15 minute walk from the Louvre/Concorde. We tended to walk everywhere and then got the Metro back in the evening. We can't fault the location, it was convenient for everywhere we wanted to go.

The well-being area was also lovely. The pool is small, but more than sufficient to quietly relax, especially for the feet after a long day walking. We didn't use the gym equipment as we didn't really have the right clothes, but probably would if/when we return. I think there was a treadmill, cross trainer and exercise bike, and they all looked like decent pieces of equipment. The sauna was also lovely to relax in, and I particularly liked being able to change the colour of the lights in there.

Although we obviously enjoyed getting out and seeing Paris, I think our favourite part of the day was returning to the hotel in the evening to unwind. There was a good choice of free films to watch, which was a really nice touch. Although it wasn't all just about staying in the hotel watching movies, for us it was great to get away from stressful jobs and do a little bit of nothing without feeling guilty. I also feel that its worth mentioning (as I couldn't find any comment on it beforehand) that as a same sex female couple, not an eyelid was batted at us. This is obviously the way it should be, but any couple who has ever been asked, "Sorry, did you know you booked a double room?" will know what that feels like, so it was great that this was a total non-issue. On the last day we checked out just before midday. Our train was not until the evening, and once again the hotel looked after our luggage and offered to book us a taxi for later. As before, them looking after our baggage was a great help.

We booked this hotel for a special birthday, thinking that if we returned to Paris just for a normal break we would stay somewhere a bit more ordinary/cheaper. I don't think we could return to Paris again and stay somewhere else knowing that this place exists - we are raving about it to everyone who asks how our trip was. By the way, the photos on the hotel's website - unlike so many other hotel's promo photos - it actually looks like that!

It would be completely unfair of me to say that this hotel is not beautiful. The attention to detail in the decor is amazing, as is the service from the staff here.

However, we felt it was extremely overpriced for what it was. The rooms are small and to be fair, you are not really getting your moneys worth.

My advice if you are rich is to stay here and enjoy it. However, if you consider this place to be a treat, you can definitely get a lot more for your money elsewhere.

We spent 9 nights at this small boutique hotel. The hotel is ideally located on a quiet street with only a half-block walk to the metro. The hotel is beautiful and the room met all our needs and had sufficient space for all our clothing. The staff, Hakim especially, was extremely helpful. They assisted with restaurant selection and reservations. Helped me book train tickets to Brugge. We were always greeted as we entered. Our package included the breakfast which was excellent and would have cost at least 20 Euros each if we paid at a cafe. The gym and spa area are beautiful and who does not enjoy a relaxing dip in a pool after a day of touring prior to enjoying a great meal in Paris. I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone from a weekend traveller to someone staying longer. It's ranking on Tripadvisor is well deserved. Great job!
