“Clean budget hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

The hotel just went through renovation. Rooms and beds were new. They were very clean and spacious. The bathroom was large and spacious. Great shower too. The lobby is actually located one floor above ground. It's a struggle if you are carrying a large heavy luggage. The hotel offered free wifi but it only allowed it for one device only.

The neighborhood is a bit sketchy. There is a KFC around the corner of the block where people linger and solicit. We saw a lot of asian prostitutes a block or two away from the hotel in the daytime! Location wise, it wasn't very convenient for a group of girls traveling. Streets are not as better maintained as other parts of Paris and there are very few restaurants or local businesses that open after 7pm in the area. It is a good budget hotel for a group or couple who are just looking for a clean room. I wouldn't recommend it to family or a group of girls.

My son and I just stayed at the Cosmotel in Rue Strasbourg. It is very close to 2 metro-stations. The room and the bathroom was fine and very clean, and nice big towels. It was quiet, away from street noise. Nice with the aircondition. Breakfast was OK for 8 euro. Lots of cafés and restaurants in the vicinity, and only 15 min. walk to Notre Dame.

A bit peculiar with a lobby upstairs and rooms located in several buildings linked together. It was very clean, good staff and recently updated. The neighborhood is very ethnic and some might think sketchy but quite typical for Paris and no real concern. Lots of food options in all budgets and excellent metro access to several lines. Rooms were on an internal courtyard an no street noise. Would stay here again without a second thought

Nothing special, worth the price.
Clean, well-located and friendly service.

Parking available across the street for 15 euros a day, great price.
but do NOT come with a big car unless you want it so be scratched/dented all over.
Parking is extremely narrow and it took us about 20 minutes to get 5 floors down and park because we had to be extremely slow and careful.

If you're driving a Smart, you shouldn't have a problem!

Look, if you are like me and are happy with a clean - well located hotel this is for you. Paris is often full of traps for tourists and hotels are not cheap to come by. I went around Xmas time and ud think it might be a decent time to go (its freezing so tourists are on the low) but hotel prices were not cheap. I usually stay at bigger hotels but this one surprised me.

Positives
- Excellent location. Stay here and you can walk around Paris. Metro is very close too as are some bakeries for breakfast. Oh which btw is not included.

- Clean room and bathroom. Modern furniture and cleanliness was on their priority. It looks like its been through a recent renovation (smell of polish all over the hotel). Noise levels were low.

Negatives
- Internet just did not work. I dont know if it was just me but i could not connect.
- Rooms are a bit small. If you dont mind that you will be fine. They are not tiny but just not huge.

Would I stay here again? absolutely. Would i come here and stay on a romantic weekend? no. but if you're on a budget or are in a relationship where looks dont matter anymore this place will be enough.

Some people are also talking about shady ... ladies. Yes they are noticeable but not a nuisance. There are some restaurants/turkish fast food places nearby that do good pizza/doner kebabs are open very late. Served me well when the fancy places were shut.

Room Tip: Views are not to die for - so any room will do.

We stayed here for 3 nights and wasn't sure about the hotel based on reviews/lack of photos but were pleasantly surprised at how pleasant our stay was.

Clean and tidy rooms and bathrooms
Close to the metro (short walk to St Denis metro station)
Friendly staff

The only negative (which wasn't huge) was the internet promised never worked.

Great hotel, very friendly service. Area was a bit shady with some prostitutes on the corner, but still very safe, so no worries there. Walked home at 4 AM from the bars quite a few nights and never had any problems. Very friendly concierge, helpful and the rooms were very clean and spacious.
