“Lovely small hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 17, 2009

We just returned from Paris and stayed at the Hotel Le Vignon and were very pleased. The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was a superior room on the fourth floor. The view out the window was not much but the room was very quiet and spacious by Paris standards. We appreciated the nice linens and the bathrobes and slippers that were provided. The bath was white marble and was immaculate. Evening turn down service and towel replacement is something one would not expect at this price point. The breakfast was more that adequate and included a good assortment of cheese, fruit, cereals, smoked salmon and breads. The location on a quiet street near the Madeline Church is very convenient to the Metro, department stores and the Opera.

We visit Paris once or twice a year, usually staying on the Left Bank but this time, with shopping in mind, decided to look for somewhere close to the grands magasins. The reviews of Le Vignon made it sound appealing, so we booked for just one night. It more than lives up to the praises heaped on it by other reviewers. The discreet entrance is tucked between shops in a little shopping street with all kinds of interesting small shops selling a wide range of things - honey, gloves, cashmere, charcuterie, a restaurant with a MIchelin bib, a brasserie, a perfumerie - and in late November it was festooned with Christmas lights. We were with friends - we had booked a 'superior' room and they had opted for a standard. Ours, on the second floor, overlooked an unexciting inner well, but was wonderfully quiet, a good size, especially for Paris, with seating for three and a cheerful contemporary decor. Our friends' room, on the sixth floor, was smaller but perfectly adequate and full of character, with sloping ceilings and a huge beam across the bath. Our room on the second floor merited a rating of five stars, but theirs was less peaceful and the constant intermittent noise of a generator or some other electrical equipment disturbed their sleep; otherwise the rooms would have got a five. The receptionist did offer them a free breakfast when they mentioned it (and at 15 euros for breakfast this is a more generous offer than it sounds. Breakfast at Paul just down the road is 4.10 euros). The price of breakfast, and charging for the use of the internet, is the reason for a four rating for value. The hotel is very well located for shopping, about three minutes from Galeries Lafayette and Printemps, and in an area of small, independent, individual shops of the kind that hardly exist in London any more. And it's near a couple of metro stations and all the buses along boulevard Haussman, so it's easy to get anywhere.

We just returned from a 10-day trip to Paris in which we stayed 4-nights at a large chain to start and then the last 4 nights at the hotel Le Vignon.

I was thoroughly impressed by the friendliness, cleanliness and quiet location. The four front desk staff were very, very helpful and patient!

Our 6th floor room had plenty of space.

The area is close enough to walk or cab it to the historical sites and shopping although we walked everywhere.

We travel a lot and read Trip Advisor before booking. As usual we were pleased by the accuracy of the reviews.

The hotel is in the middle of a quiet business street with unique little shops and restaurants on it. It was perfect for us.

I read about this hotel in a magazine a long time ago and it described it as a "cozy boutique hotel." This was our first time to Paris so we had no idea about how great a location this would be.

The hotel is situated in a quiet street in a central part of Paris. You can walk pretty much anywhere. There are some fabulous restaurants around the hotel as well and they are all reasonable in price.

As stated in many reviews, the staff here are wonderful! They made it so easy for us.

The price is a bit expensive but it is well worth it!

We will definitely stay here during future stays!!

Superbly located, this hotel is on a quiet street populated by specialty gourmet stores such as La Maison de Miel, Truffle house as well as Brugg's chocolate house. There are a number of pastry shops as well. It is steps away from Printemp and Concord, and we were able to walk everywhere.
It is a small and relatively simple 4-star hotel, but it does the work. It is clean and bathroom is of decent size. Staff was very nice and courteous.
Of all our stays in the 8th arrondisment, this one should certainly be revisited. The complimentary use of internet in the lobby helps a great deal as well.

I have visited this hotel for a number of years now - and I can say it is always like coming home. The location is perfect in the centre of Paris and yet is is always tranquil and relaxed .
Comfortable and contemporary in style, perfectly clean and so welcoming.
I stay at hotels all over Europe and this is by far and away my favourite
Last and by no means least I hope you are lucky enough to be greeted by Fabienne at reception - then your stay will be complete.
Fabienne is the epitomy of Parisien sophistication.
All the staff are friendly and welcoming
A great find ............... Enjoy

Fantastic location right in the heart of Paris yet at night it becomes an oasis of tranqulity! Small boutique hotel with beautiful decoration and very personal service! One of the best service team in the industry and it comes from somebdoy who travels 60-70% for business (Fabienne is the best!). Rooms are very comfortable with nice touches like free Mariage Freres tea; bathrooms are bigger than in some big chain hotels! Great restaurants right around the corner from the hotel! Try it - you will not be dissapointed! Andre from NY
