The Museum is the showplace store for Baccarat in Paris and is a mansion with great opulence that has been redecorated by Philip Stark. The showrooms are on the main floor. To get to the museum, you mount a magnificent staircase lined with carpeting that sparkles. Of course, the chandeliers are astonishing- all beautiful Baccarat. Upstairs, there are two rooms, one with vitrines containing representative work of the house of Baccarat over the past centuries. It is a small room but filled with dazzlingly beautiful crystal artwork. Adjoining this room is a fantastic room tented with canvases painted by an artist with tremendous style and flair. This room houses a collection of major modern pieces of crystal. In the hall there are some fantastic crystal lamps and chandeliers, and then there is a beautiful salon with painted walls and ceiling. At the end of this room is a glass screen where you can watch a short film showing some of the artisans who create the crystal and the techniques they use. It is fantastic to see. On the way out of the room, be sure to notice the amazing brass hardware on the windows. It won't take you long to visit this museum, and it is spectacular. End your visit by taking a walk through the showroom to see what is for sale.
