“A little gem near Montparnasse - no wonder the foie gras is award winning”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 19, 2013 via mobile

Happened to stumble on this little gem, ambience is very homely and warm, service was quick and easy to order, menu translated into English and good half bottles of wine available.

It specialises in duck/foie gras dishes from the SE of France.

We chose the menu Délice and menu terroir with which we chose onion soup and foie gras for entree, potted duck thigh and duck cassoulet for mains and dessert du jour.

The foie gras was noted as award winning and we can see why, creamy, meaty, buttery... All the things you expect if you like foie gras. The onion soup was steamy hot, perfect for a cold day.

The cassoulet was so hearty and I was unable to finish it so as to leave room for dessert. Floating island was the dessert of the day, and although the meringue was soft as a cloud the only downside was the creme anglais seemed to be missing something....

All in all, a nice little bustling place. We didn't see many tourists here and we'd definitely go back again

“One Mans rags”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

My wife and I visited this restaurant today and the food at lunchtime was superb. I had the 3 course meal including Duck foie gras, Duck magret and a dessert. my wife had roast wood pigeon. The service was impeccable, the food beautifully cooked, the prices reasonable and this restaurant should never be graded as trip adviser has it graded. Over the last three weeks we have visited three Michelin listed restaurants and other than a relatively limited menu this restaurant served food at a better standard and certainly in more generous quantity than one of those. This is a welcome relief from the mass of Creperie restaurants in the Montparnesse district.

“Second worst meal ever - a bad rep for France”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2012 via mobile

The blurb about specializing in duck and food from the SE of France had us salivating. Unfortunately that was the only highlight.
The duck and coq au vin were tough as old boots and the pork and sausage in beans so tasteless they barely got touched. One of the beans meal did come with a bonus hair that looked like it had come from the owner' head as he kept scratching.
Rate it as the second worst meal ever, and I eat just about anything.
