“Lovely hotel, friendly staff”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 5, 2014 via mobile

I went here with my boyfriend for a four day trip. When we arrived we were greeted by the welcoming staff. My French was rusty and they would speak to us in perfect English. It definitely helped calm our nerves. We stayed up on the fourth floor, draped in Chanel no 5 art, a very pretty room, the room was small but that's to be expected in paris. The bathroom was lovely, powerful shower with twinkling lights made it special. However, after a long day of lots of walking, I would have appreciated a relaxing bath, but that is a minor thing.
There are plenty of TV channels but no English ones that work, again, something small.
We were close to two different metro stations that you get right into the heart of the city very easily. Buying tickets is easy too (English on the screen). Walking to the Eiffel Tower takes about 15 mins, and it's a great way to find your bearings.
A great little hotel with Marilyn decor :-)

Booked this hotel as a surprise for my girlfriends 21st birthday.
Booked it via there website and paid for a few extras including roses on the bed, which were perfectly laid out and well worth the extra 10 Euro charge.

We stayed in room 601, Superior room with round bed and wet room.
Perfect room, the size though small, is perfectly big enough for everything you need. The bed was the most comfortable thing I've ever slept in, absolutely brilliant.
The shower is powerful, modern, and everything was extremely clean. The décor was something we really liked, my girlfriend is a big fan of Marilyn Monroe so for her the décor was faultless.
Room service was brilliant, we had a problem with the television but a member of staff was straight up to assist.

The staff were extremely friendly, attentive and very helpful, service was brilliant.

The hotel itself is beautifully designed, very attentive to detail and a lovely place to be in.
The location was superb, I was hesitant at first, but the metro is less than a two-minute walk away and we used the bus services that are extremely regular and again, a minute walk away.
Effiel tower was a 15-minute walk away.

Opposite the hotel is a very nice shopping centre, with everything you need and a great range of shops and restaurants.

We didn't eat at the hotel so cant comment at the food, there was local shops and cafés and we chose to dine their for breakfast, though the hotels breakfast did look very good when we passed through.

Wi-Fi was perfect, no problems and the spa looks fantastic, unfortunately we didn't have a chance to use it, but again it was extremely clean and looked good.

Overall the hotel is ideal for couples, weekends away and something romantic, the staff were excellent and the location was spot on for getting around and seeing Paris.

Highly recommended and wouldn't think twice about staying here again.
Lovely stay.

We stayed here for a long weekend for my 21st birthday. Wifi available upon request at reception. Lovely interior and you can tell that a lot of money has been spent on the rooms. My boyfriend had asked for a surprise gift of roses and a cake to be sent to the room on the morning of my birthday, however it did not come so he was under the impression that they had forgot. We went out for the day sightseeing and as we got back there was cake sat in a hot room and 12 white small roses in a cup of water with an elastic band wrapped around them. We did not know how long the cake had been sat there for as we left the room at 11am and got back at 5:30pm. The cake was more cream than cake, it had 2 tiny slithers and it had fruit on too which was swimming in a jelly like substance. I would not recommend this at all, do not be ripped off with this as it cost €60. I know paris is expensive but that was extortionate for what it was. They did however hold it in a fridge but we have to ask for a fork to eat it with.
The shopping centre is great for shopping and food but we struggled to find many restaurants. I'd recommend going to the 6th arrondissement and going to the Hard Rock Cafe or Chez Bartolo.
No English channels on the tv which would of been nice to have after a long day of sightseeing.
The hotel will hold your bags if you are early for check in or your flights are after checking out. Charles Michel was a couple of minutes walk away which is really handy.
There was so many beggers around Paris. Especially on the metros and in the mcdonalds right near the hotel. This doesn't reflect the hotel but just be aware.
We didn't have the breakfast as it seemed expensive for a continental breakfast (€15 each). Rooms very clean and cleaned daily with fresh towels if needed. However my boyfriend took his own white towel and the cleaner took it by mistake. But we did not get it back. The room had a mini bar (coca cola can €4) but did not have any tea/coffee making facilities which in my opinion is a downfall.
Other than the few negatives it is a lovely hotel, ok location and clean.

We stayed there for 2 nights to celebrate NY 2014. After spending hours reviewing hotels, we glad we picked this one. It was in a good location with a shopping all nearby as well as good bistros and bars in close proximity. It was a nice 10 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower along the river. The Metro was a 2 minute walk away and getting around to all the tourist sites was very easy. The room was small but had everything we needed, plasma tv (not that we watched any), ipod docking station, quirky decor (dont think everyone will like it though), lovely shower and most importantly very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We didnt have breakfast there and opted to rather try some to the lovely cafes nearby which was a good call. Word to the wise - pre-book the big attractions this time of the year!!! We had to queue for 3 hours to get in to the Louvre and missed the chance to go up the Eiffel Tower as the lines were even longer. In summary, lovely hotel, good location and friendly staff and we would go back there again.

My husband and I stayed here for 3 nights to celebrate my birthday and it was a fabulous experience. Negatives - there was a lot of road works happening outside our hotel I am sure it would have been noisy during the day but we didn't stay in to find out! This was in Nov 2012 so obviously work may have finished since!

Positives - possibly one of the funkiest rooms I have ever stayed in! Marilyn Monroe on the main wall, a round bed, a dark shower adorned with crystals and soft lighting and a small separate toilet room with walls covered with red lips! Definitely not your traditional room!

Location of the hotel is very good. Walking distance from the Eiffel Tower (15 - 20 mins) and local to shops and subway stations. A big supermarket opposite which is handy should you need some last minute supplied (hair spray!)

We didn't eat at the hotel so could not review the food but on arrival there was some macaroons and a happy birthday message waiting for us :)

Staff were friendly and helpful but we didn't have much interaction as we already had an itinerary mapped out for our short stay!

Dear ReshiG,

Thank you so much for your nice words about the Platine Hotel.
Works outside are now finished since October 2013 ! We have a brand new luxury shopping Center in front of the hotel and the street is really quiet.
We hope you will be back to the Platine hotel and discover the new environment.

Kind Regards,

Sophie

You need to love Maryline as her face greets you in every room, and "Some like it Hot" is continuously showing in the elevator. The decor is funky, different in every room as far as I could see. Reception is very friendly as per Parisian standards, there is also a good breakfast buffet in an American diner's decor (at an extra cost, but ok) and a lobby lounge area where you can purchase drinks.
The superior room had a hot tub in it, (twinkling starlights in between wall tiles)- a bit tiny though if you wish to share it. Not too far from the Eiffel tower but with good shopping and restaurant possibilities right next door. The bus takes you into town if you prefer to see where you are going. Metro is right next door, too. A good place for either business or a romantic weekend for 2. I do wonder about the windows though, after a bath the place gets heavily steamed up, might get mouldy in a very short while. The windows open only completely or not at all, which makes it difficult to aerate the room. It was very hot inside the room, aircon did not seem to work my way.
