So the rooms in this hotel are very nice in that they are spacious, clean and comfortable. Our room was a suite with living room, "kitchen" and spacious bedroom. For those of you in the know, you will recognize that this is VERY unusual anywhere in a European city and especially in Paris.
We loved getting our breakfast from the neighborhood shops and bringing it back to the room with a pot (or two) of room service coffee (delivered within 5 minutes). We could either eat on our living room or on our BALCONY with sitting tables and chairs. Did I mention BALCONY?!
For those of you interested, we got our baguette from Eric Kayser, cheese from Laurent Dubois and fruit from local grocer.
The hotel was very nicely located one block from St. Germain, a subway stop and a taxi stand. This is in the Latin Quarter about 5 minute walk from Notre Dame. That said, this is at the opposite end from the Eiffel Tower, Champs Ellise (sp?) and good walk from the Louvre.
The staff was friendly but not very knowledgeable or helpful WRT things other than cab ride to airport. So all-in-all, if you don't need the help of a concierge and you like to walk, this is a great place.
