“Charming and Warm”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

I stayed at this hotel in October and I truly loved it. Let me tell you that everything about this hotel is small: the elevator is tiny-my friend and I couldn't get in with our luggage at the same time-and so are the rooms. However, the room was cozy and clean. Continental breakfast was served daily and it was very tasty.

More importantly, the service was fantastic. The hotel clerk and staff were incredibly sweet and helpful. They were patient with us and our limited French even teasing that they would quiz us. We received great directions for navigating the city and recommendations for enjoying our time. I would definitely stay again.

“Basic hotel in good location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012

Stayed here 1 night for business. Location is very nice; near some main sights and very close to metro and restaurants. Service was good en very friendly. Room was small, bed was uncomfortably hard and no shower curtain so bathroom was pretty wet! It was clean and at the price charged I will have no problem staying here again.

“Great location, nice people, need air conditioner remote after shower”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed September 8, 2012

Location was great :)

Service was friendly and really helpful

Breakfast was delicious - I don't know where they get their breads and pastries but they were the best we had the whole holiday :)

Room was small which we expected

It was reasonably quiet at night even though we were on the 3rd floor only

The room got very humid after either of us had a shower or if we put on jackets to go out. We really needed the air conditioner remote (which was not in the room and I didn't think of asking for it while we were there)

Room Tip: I don't know if they have them, but it might be good to borrow or get the air conditioner remote...

“Best thing was location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 27, 2012

Basic hotel, tight rooms and bathroom, small eating area, but within walking distance of most of the main things to see, keeping in mind that Paris is a fairly walk-friendly city to begin with. A supermarket across the street is a definitely plus for any necessities and loads of good cafes are close by. Was lucky enough to have an extra bed in the room, which made a good parking place for my suitcase as otherwise there would have been no place to put it. For some reason the electricity plug in the bathroom wouldn't work my hair dryer, so there was a bit of to-ing and fro-ing from the relatively-poorly lit bedroom with elecitricity that worked to the relatively-better lit bathroom with electricity that didn't, but it was all good and gave me some exercise. One has to keep in mind that Paris is not a city where one spends a lot of time indoors, so for that I will say it served its purpose, but if I was traveling with family this would not be a place I would choose.

Room Tip: I believe there are renovated rooms, ask for those. Judging from other comments it seems the older r...

“Splish spash, I was taking a bath - but not in the tub!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 15, 2012

PROS

Nice Location
– Located on a quiet street just a 5 minute walk to the nearest metro.
– There is a small grocery store just down the street to pick up wine, waters, snacks and other items.

Bedroom Basics
– Small desk with chair and plug to charge electronics (or use it as a luggage rack due to little floor space available).
– Mini fridge to hold soft drinks, water and snacks we picked up during our stay.
– TV did have some English speaking channels.

The Only Bathroom Plus
– Tub in bathroom, great for ladies who prefer a ledge for shaving legs.

CONS

The Tiny Bedroom
– Very firm bed with lumpy polyfill pillows.
– The in-room temperature was very difficult to control.
– Very small in-room safe. Just large enough for an iPad and a few small items. Will not hold a laptop.

The Flooded Bathroom
– NO SHOWER CURTAIN, bathroom gets soaked during showering. FUZZY MOLD mold in the grout on the shower walls. The shower head is on a cord to help those who are taller than 5 feet.
– Our “fresh” towels were dirty at times, appeared used and simply refolded. They were also very scratchy and there were no washcloths.
– There are no plugs in the bathroom (probably because there is no shower curtain and they don’t want you standing in a puddle to flat iron your hair). You must use the plug in the bedroom to use hair styling electronics. There was a full length mirror in the bedroom.
– There was no fan or ventilation in the bathroom, so it remained steamy after showering.
– Water temperature fluxuated during showering – was hot/cold/hot again. Good water pressure.
– In-room hair dryer was just ok – took a very long time to dry my hair.
– Very small vanity space in the bathroom.

The Old Hotel
– Wi-Fi was not free and the daily rates changed depending on who was at the front desk that day. The front desk staff seemed to know very little English.
– No ice machine
– The elevator is the size of an airplane bathroom. Only 1 person and a large bag fit at a time.
– They still use actual keys – which we found very hard to lock/unlock the guestroom door.
– Thin walls – could hear the guests in the neighboring room.

Overall, this hotel is close to what I expected for our trip to Europe as I expected small spaces. However, the lack of a shower curtain/wall and dirty towels would not interest me in staying at this hotel again - easy fixes management!

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a shower curtain. Thanks to some guest photos, it looks as though there are bath...
