My husband and I stayed at the Timhotel Tour Eiffel for 5 nights in January 2007. We booked the hotel for the location and in this respect were not disappointed. The hotel is located within walking distance of the eiffel tower and is surrounded by many restaurants. There is a good one right across the road called "Pa Pa Pa" that serves massive plates of italian food - two big eaters could share the one dish. There is also a convenience store right next door and the duplex railway station is a very short walk.

Okay, so apart from that there isn't too much to rave about - though it is important to keep in mind that it is a 1/2 star hotel. The rooms are so incredibly small. We tightly fit two suitcases into the room and after that could no walk around the bed at all. The walls are so thin you can hear the people next door opening a packet of chips. We were lucky enough to be next to a loud italian family who woke us up at 2 in the morning with their partying - though it is not really their fault as guests should be able to have a drink in their room without waking the rooms either side due to the paper thin walls. There was also a strong smell of smoke in our non-smoking room and I asked to change rooms after that sleepless night. The second room was just as small but smelled better. It was on the fourth floor and the decor was a little more modern than in the 2nd floor room also.

The breakfast was substandard - cereal, croissants, yoghurt and was not well stocked. I wouldn't pay extra for the breakfast as there are so many nice places nearby to eat at.

The lady at reception - who is pregnant at the moment - was a great help and spoke friendly english very well. She booked tours for us and helped with lots of our touristy questions which was great.

Overall I would say this hotel is okay as long as you don't expect much from the rooms (remember it is 1/2 star!) Other than that it is in a great location for walking tourists - you can see most major sites on foot in about 8 hours including stopping to check things out (spread over 2 days if you like!).

Me and my boyfriend recently stayed here for 3 nights. The Hotel is basic as are the rooms; bed, tv, and bathroom but what else do you need?! We were in Room 27 which was more than adequate for 2 of us. I did email the hotel directly to enquire about the infamous room 63 but I didnt receive a reply and Im still waiting!! The main thing was that the rooms were clean and fresh towels were provided everyday. Breakfast was good, no variation but everything was fresh and regularly topped up. The staff on reception werent the friendliest (the cleaners and kitchen staff were more so) but as we spent hardly any time at the hotel it wasn't a problem. It's in a great spot, 5 mins to River Seine and to Eiffel Tower, and handy for the metro. We got all our supplies from the shop next door, and I recommend the restaurant over the road Pastapapa - great value for money and you get good portions!

The Hotel could not have been better placed. Easy walking distance to the Eiffel Tower and 5 Minutes to the Metro.
Close to plenty of decent Restaurants, Bars and Supermarkets,
We had room 63 which even had a view of the Tower - Dheeraj on the reception could not have been more helpful - nothing was too much trouble. All the staff were friendly. Hotel rooms and lift not oversized but compared to location and price, we could not fault it. We would not hesitate to book again.

To call this hotel cozy would get me accused of being to grand, the bare fact of the hotel is that our room was incrediably small. Now I can deal with a small room especially when we get a good deal, but said room needs to be well laid out--to which this room wasn't. The hotel room was taken up almost completely by the bed but that wasn't the worst part... the bathroom. Nevermind the spots of black mold, it was so tight it was painful... literally. The toliet and the shower were so close together, that it was unavoidable smacking glass door of the shower onto the toliet every time. Having them smack together, leaves minimal (read that as only a couple inches) space for the door to actually be open, making it so that both your front and back are touching the shower door and the side of the shower getting in and out.

The only other problem we had was that when we were given our key, we went to the room and somebody else's luggage was still in it. When I alerted the desk staff to it, they said that they already knew, a few minutes later a maid came to get it. This wouldn't had been a big problem, except for they never told the owner of the bag, so an hour into my nap after our long flight from Portland, Oregon there was a very foreceful banging on our door. When I answered, a man virtually forced his way into the room speaking in a very angry tone in a language I didn't understand. He started rooting through all of the stuff in the room looking for something. Kind of a distrubing start to the trip.

Other than that, the staff at the hotel was nice and helpful, as well as the location was very nice. There is a couple of resturants withing a couple of hundred feet (I reccommend the Chez Thomas), a store next door, and a pastry shop within a thrity second walk. As well, the metro is just two minutes from the hotel which was incrediable helpful... it sits on the number six line (station name: dupleix) which makes it so you can get almost anywhere in Paris with only having to transfer once. On Sundays there is a great flea market that is held right under the metro stop, where you can get quite a selection of wines, foods, and clothes.

  • Liked — Location-- a great on/off stop for the metro, 10 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower
  • Disliked — Size of the room, very small. The bathroom was almost unbearable... you had to smash the shower door against the toliet to literally squeeze into and out of the shower.
  • Tips/Secrets: — If your priority is a good deal, this may work... I'd reccommend finding a hotel near this one, just maybe not this one.

I just returned from a one-day stay at the Timhotel Tour Eiffel. The room was comfortable and clean with a very welcome hot shower and the staff was friendly and extremely helpful.
I had an early flight the next morning, making it necessary for me to leave at 4am for the airport, at which time the usual shuttlebus was not yet in service. The receptionist (Martin) called around and found me transportation, and also helped me figure out how to use the phone card I had bought at the airport.
There was a wonderful cafe around the corner, and it was a comfortable walk to the Eiffel Tower and other attractions.
I highly recommend this hotel for single travellers like myself.
