“A Lot of Work”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2012

A myriad of little details made this hotel experience very exasperating, and I sorely regret not having payed more elsewhere for a more pleasant stay. First, there is nothing redeeming about the lobby and breakfast room -- clean but ugly. Then, if you like orange bedrooms with a wall view on a back street, and red-orange striped carpet with bright indelible stains, you might not be too unhappy here. Bed: the mattress and pillows are so hard they hurt. Bathroom: no console around the sink, so I had to bring the desk chair into the bathroom to set my make-up bags on a surface...the soap won't stay put, and falls into the sink, so I had to put it in a drinking glass to keep it from slipping. The tub is very tight unless you're a size 4-6, and if you stand to take a shower, your feet are pressed together and you can't help stepping on the drain plug and closing it. Once it's closed, it is an almost impossible ordeal to try to open it up again. No magnetic card for a room key so you have to wait in the lobby until someone feels like appearing at the front desk to give you your old fashioned heavy clunky thing. I waited 20 minutes on my last evening in Paris because the front desk employee was chatting with a friend down the street and when he finally came back to the hotel, thought I would understand that he bumped into an old friend. Another evening, I was (again) waiting for someone to appear at the front desk when another guest entered, making a noise with the door, causing the employee to come out of the side office swearing in french "fait chier." I travel quite a lot, usually love staying at hotels, and never have complaints, but this was a bitter three day stay in Paris.

Room Tip: Just don't stay here. Paris has so much more to offer.

Booked this room because it was near the Congress where I was attending a conference. It was very convenient to my meeting. The rooms were small, but comfortable and clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. Free wifi is definitely a bonus.

I booked earlier this year based soley on price and proximity to the Air France bus at Porte Maillot. It is literally é minutes from the bus stop. My rate for a single was 70 euros without breakfast, Now I am here and although I don't usually stay in a hotel, I am extremely satisfied, First an equiry before arrival was very quickly addressed by Yannick. Small lobby is very attractive and there are many restaurants and cafes nearby. Just back at -6AM from a Bar Tabac across the street where I had 2 allonge and 2 marvelous petit pain au chocolat for 6 euros. Staff were ver y nice. Now the room; The bathroom is huge for this type of small hotel and the amenities are top rate. Olive oil soaps, herb shampoos etc. The mattress seemed new and the towels are thick and brilliant white; A good choice of TV channels as well.

The staff are warm and polite. The only small thing is the hall carpet but considering the great overal experience=I say book it and enjoy, especially if you are a single traveller, The breakfast room is very cosy. On the first floor with lots of light.

We stayed in this hotel for one night and received excellent service as other reviewers have said. We also felt that the staff went above and beyond the call of duty. We asked if there was soy milk at breakfast and a while later the waitress told us it would be coming soon because she had called up and asked someone to buy some and it indeed arrived after a few minutes. We moved from this hotel to a huge, impersonal 4 star hotel and were sorry that we had moved. The bedroom was not very large and we had a room on the top floor so part of the ceiling was sloped but the bathroom was huge and well appointed with good toiletries. We would definitely consider returning to this hotel.

The staff at this hotel went above and beyond to make our stay as pleasant as possible. The breakfast and atmosphere in the lounge was great. The hotel and rooms felt quite tight but the bathroom was surprisingly spacious and well appointed. Great value for the service.
