All the staff were great - so friendly and helpful.
They even managed to get us tickets to the Moulin Rouge even though we asked at 5pm on the same weekend as the Tour de France with all sessions already fully booked.
The rooms were great - nice and quiet, and the housekeeping staff seemed to clean the room and replace the towels every time you left it.
The location next to the Arc de Triomphe can't be beaten. Only 2 minutes walk to have a bottle of champagne on the Champs Elysees.
We loved every minute of our stay and will definitely return to the same hotel.

Let me start by saying that this was my wife and I's first trip to Paris, so I have no perspective on what other hotels are like and my compete basis of comparison for making this reservation was TripAdvisor.

The location is awesome, because it is on the Champs Elysees, but also because it is right across from a Metro, which we learned will take you anywhere. The areas around the hotel were great for finding great shopping, cafes and an afternoon bottle of wine.

We stayed a week in late September in room 309, a Jr. Suite located on the 4th floor. We did not have a view of the Arch but knew that and preferred the Jr. Suite. I must admit that our first impression of the Jr. Suite was disappointing as it did not look as grand as the picture on the web site, but we soon got used to it and were very very happy with our choice. It was a bit expensive, but I'm guessing that is just Paris.

The bathrooms appear to be reasonably new and are very well appointed. I was pleasantly surprised just how well done they were. We asked that the twin beds be converted to a king which they took care of for us. The appointments are minimal but very efficient. We had two very grand windows, one in each room, that opened up onto the street. Our view, while not of the ADT, was of a normal Paris street, and we found it very nice. The adjacent room was small but also very efficent and included a TV, mini bar and small table. All better than we expected.

The in room internet sucked but they have a free internet station downstairs that was almost always available and it worked great.

We did not request the breakfast package and did not use the bar, so I dont have any thoughts on those.

The strength of the Hotel Splendid is the staff. They are remarkable. Some of the nicest people I have ever encountered in a hotel. We have traveled extensively and I would match them up against anyplace we have stayed. The front desk staff made you feel at home every time you entered the hotel. They helped us with everything from how to ask for something in French to how to request a refund of the VAT tax on purchased items. They were always friendly and helpfull.

I would recommend this place to anyone.

Stayed in this hotel for 2 nights in September. I have stayed in a number of different hotel in Paris and this is by far and away the best. The location is fantastic - views of the Arc de Triomphe as other reviewers have mentioned. And the Air Fance bus from the airports will leave you practically at the door of the hotel. The rooms are a good size ( we were able to fit an extra bed with no problem), and spotlessly clean. Beds are comfortable. Again - bathroom is a good size and very clean. Breakfast was included in our rate and is very adequate.
I was worried about whether the room would be noisy from traffic outside but this is not the case at all because the rooms are double glazed with shutters.
The staff are to be highly recommended - they could not have been more helpful with any queries we had. And special mention to Farouk who went out of his way to accommodate us.
Overall I would say that in its price category you will not do better then the Splendid Etoile in Paris.

We stayed at the hotel for six nights in September and had an absolutely wonderful stay. The staff at this hotel are absolutely world-class, always friendly, and go out of their way to assist with any and every detail large and small. Special kudos to concierge Farouk (hope I'm spelling that correctly) who arranged a wonderful dinner cruise for my fiancee and I on the night of her birthday and was most helpful with our every request. The room was spacious, spotless, and outstanding, offering a wonderful view from the balcony of the Arc de Triomphe. The hotel is located in a great area, with several terrific restaurants and bars all withing walking distance and the Metro is literally right out of the front door of the hotel. I have visited Paris on several occasions in the past but have never enjoyed a stay as much as I did this time. This is our hotel in Paris from now on, without a doubt. Can't say enough about the place and the staff. Wonderful!
