“Rundown and insecure”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed January 6, 2014 via mobile

Good location for shopping but run down, outdated and poor condition. DO NOT leave any CASH in the room without lock away in the safe even for just for a minute or breakfast, found out my couple hundred £ got stolen after checked out on the way back to London. Very frustrating.

Im not sure what everyone is moaning about, after reading some reviews I was nervous about the trip however I had the best weekend of my life. Returned yesterday after a weekend away with my boyfriend. The hotel was lovely, full of parisian beauty, polite and helpful staff, clean and very comfortable.
On arrival we were upgraded (not sure why) but was a bonus! The location was fabulous! a five minute walk to the metro to get straight to Disney Land Paris (we used the metro a lot - very cheap) We walked to the Eiffel Tower and five minute walk up the road was Lafayette.
The breakfast was very over priced, so brought some from Starbucks in the morning (next to hotel).
Overall I would definitely return!

I booked triple room for my family. When we entered the room it looked like a regular double room with a roll-away squeezed in. The room was extremely hot and would not cool down. The bathroom for a change had a window that would not close (mid December) so taking a shower in the morning - impossible. We were given a single room just for that night so we could take the shower in the morning. The window got fixed only the next day evening after I went to the reception myself. Also someone from the staff left our door open during a day so anybody could get in. Back to the bathroom - although the window got finally closed, there was no heat, still really cold. So we got the space heater delivered. But - it would have to be plugged into the outlet in the room with the extension cord running from the bathroom, through the hallway to the room. Great, especially for a family with child. So finally the next day we were given another room, this time with an inside bathroom. Guess what? - The heating in the room does not work. It's really cold. And it has two single beds with wheels! There are also little things like tiles that stick to your feet in the bathroom and come off, cracked walls... The hotel used to be nice - once upon the time. Breakfast - once they run out of food (like eggs, bacon), it would not be replaced...

The hotel lobby looks grand and the lift is very interesting! Both our deluxe rooms are very nice, roomy and well-stocked. I felt uncomfortable with the layout of 1 room and called the front desk to request for a change. It was done promptly and the front desk sent a staff with a new room card to our room. Thumbs up for the prompt and great service! Read reviews that there is no hot water during shower but both our rooms do not have this problem. Wifi signal is pretty weak though, we had to sit at our door with the ipad to do our online check-in. Location-wise, it is a 5min walk to Lafeyette.

The stay and service are wonderful. However, during check out, the Reception Manager wanted to charge us for a bottle of mineral water which he claimed that we took from the minibar. This is not true as we returned to the room 1 night with 2 bottles of water on our table with a greetings card from the hotel, stating that its with compliments. We explained that to the Manager and was not charged for the water. However, his attitude was not very commendable. Not withstanding this small incident, the rest of the stay is wonderful.

Dear Valerietoh,

I would like to thank you for posting your review on Tripadvisor. Your feedback is important to us and you positive comments are very much appreciated by all our staff. We really cannot emphasize enough the importance of providing quality service to our guests, so when we receive this type of feedback, we feel greatly rewarded. Something as insignificant as a bottle of water should certainly be not a cause of frustration and for this I would like you to accept our apologies.
We very much hope to welcome you again at Millennium Paris Opera and wish you happy holidays.

Kind regards,

Location was pretty good as a cab from Gard du Nord (where we arrived into Paris.at) was only about 10mins. We come to Paris every other year so it's not like we don't know what to expect but this place is OLD. Reception was a bit dated but it's the first room we were given that was shocking. The base of the bath was smashed and the toilet flusher panel literally came crashing down when I flushed. The whole room felt so creepy and uncomfortable so we had to go back down for a different room. The phone didn't even work to call reception before we headed down. We have finally settled at the 3rd room, in an unideal 2 single beds instead of a double bedroom we had booked for. The bathroom is so victorian with grout and yellowed edges everywhere. I would be more tolerant if I paid £40 a night for this but truth is we paid more like £150 a night as our experience with Millennium in Seoul was great and modern. Feel mega ripped off and a great let down!

We stayed here 10th December for a special birthday. The hotel has lots of character. It is central to everything. The room was very small and not very clean. We had to phone everyday for our coffee and tea to be replenished and also for cups and glasses as we did not have any. It took a few calls each time before we got them. There was no Christmas atmosphere, there was not even a Christmas tree. Where other hotels were all decorated. In the evening we had to go to,the bar and get our drinks rather than the waiter bring to us. Breakfast was very expensive. So we went to the cafe next door which was very good value and very nice. No door man to help with luggage or to get you a taxi. We would not stay at this hotel again. Not as luxurious as it seemed. Service poor.

Id advise against using the hotel restaurant. the service was slow and inattentive, and the food poor. We ordered the 30 euro t bone steak and the gnocchi, the steak was very fatty and I believe the gnocchi was served before the main ingredients had been added by the chef. It simply tasted of a burnt white sauce. When I informed the waiter he was not interested, and in the end I asked him to bring me some more of the ingredients which were supposed to have been added.

I was expecting the hotel room (418) to be a bit more pleasant in view of the price paid. It was rather run down, the bathroom door was warped and didn't close properly and as there was no fan the bathroom steamed up easily.

The attention to detail was poor, for instance the tea and coffee tray was tucked away in a cupboard and there was no coffee except for one sachet of decaffeinated to share between two of us, and no tea spoons!
