“Great hotel at great price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2014

After looking for places online, I managed to find this place through a travel agency. For a four star Hotel with breakfast included, it was offered at the same price as most three star hotels across Paris; so it was an obvious no brainer. The room itself was clean, modern, and relatively spacious. The view was not exactly romantic, but we both felt the room made up for it. The only real downside to the Hotel is the location, although it is only a 5 minute walk to the nearest Metro station, Picpus, it is quite far out of the central hub of Paris, which means traversing through the rather unpleasant underground system, which caused us more problems than good. However, if you're looking to add a trip to Disneyland to your vacation, Nation is only one stop from Picpus, or a 15 minute walk from the hotel, so it was ideal for us. Overall a lovely room at a reasonable price, in a location that ultimately suited us.

Dear Mark,

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience at the Best Western Allegro.
We are delighted to hear that you had a wonderful time with us.
Concerning the location, you can reach easily and quickly the center of paris (20 minutes from the hotel) thank to the metro station "porte de Vincenne" (line 1).

Thank you again for choosing our hotel.

Warmest regards,

The General Manager

We just got back yesterday and we wish we could go back. The hotel was nice and modern with really friendly staff. The room was very comfortable with free wifi, hd tv and the shower was beautiful. We were only let down by breakfast, it quoted `continental breakfast` but the hot food available wasn't so pleasing and had to fill our selves with pastries, bread and yogurts. A general thing about Paris is that food and drink is really expensive where ever you go. A typical cost for a night out to eat at a nice restaurant is about 65-80 euros. We were unlucky with the weather but still enjoyed ourselves thoroughly. Watch out for pick-pocketers, looky-looky somalians/algerians and extortionate prices. The metro station (Picpus) is really close and can get you to the nearest stop Nation where it is really easy to travel around Paris.

Overall it was a great trip and would recommend couples to stay here!

Room Tip: It is opposite a small hospital.

Dear Sam T,
We are pleased to know that you had a nice time at the Best Western Allegro.
It is right, the food is quite expensive in Paris. For your next time don’t hesitate to order our room service which is less expensive.
We look forward to welcoming you back with the sun this time.

Warmest Regards,

The General Manager

Rooms are comfortable, clean and well appointed. Downside: you might need a ladder to get into the shower and using the toilet might require some gymnastics. The staff are very pleasant and always very helpful. One of my best experiences with front desk staff ever. Location to subway, restaurants and the variety of specialty stores the french are known for is excellent. And for the hypochondriac, the Armand Trousseau hospital is right across the street.

Not long got back from staying here , first impressions were great , receptionist pleasant and helpful , got checked in quickly . Room was on third floor , we usually like top floor but had no trouble with noise during our duration as rooms quite soundproof , so even though it's situated on a main road , near a hospital there is no cause for concern .
It is about a 25 minute metro ride from Charles De Gaulle but with the system the French have got it's easy to reach . Our room was adequate enough and because it was our Silver Wedding Anniversary Break they had sprinkled Rose Petals on our large bed and there was a chocolate on each pillow , which I thought was a kind gesture .
The bed was comfy and because the World Cup was on the flat screen TV was very good to have the bathroom was lovely although there was a slight problem with the draining of the hand basin and showe , but this was a minor problem . There is a hair dryer as well and you only have to ask at reception and you can borrow an iron and board free of charge .
The breakfast room was pleasantly decorated and light and the choice for breakfast was more than enough , with the traditional pastries besides toast , scrambled eggs and bacon just to mention a few , it all tasted delicious and sets you up for a busy day of sightseeing .
We really enjoyed our stay at The Allegro and would definitely recommend it to family and friends

Room Tip: There is a lift so any room would be ok I would imagine

Dear Gaynor

Thank you for having taken the time to write this detailed commentary. We are delighted that you had a wonderful time at the Best Western Allegro.

We tried to personalize your stay thanks to the rose petals and the chocolate in your room. The entire team is happy to know that you have been satisfied by this gesture.

According the issue with the hand basin, the problem was solved after your leaving.
We hope to welcome you back in our hotel.

Best regards,

The staff was very helpful and accommodating. They new English and tried their best to understand what they didn't know. The room was extremely beautiful! I wish I had stayed for more than one day :(. The metro 6 wasn't too far away (about a 5 min walk). And about 20-25 mins from the Eiffel Tower. Lots of restaurants and afew shopping stores in the area. I would recommend this hotel.

Just back from 3 nights at the Allegro Nation.
A super little hotel. Rooms are modern, spacious and sparkling clean. Stayed with another couple. It was short walk to the Picpus Metro Station from which access to all the main attractions was very quick and easy. Would thoroughly recommend this hotel. Can't wait to come back!

The entire team enjoy the mention “Sparling little hotel”. It is a perfect representation of our hotel.

In fact, the hotel is located next to the metro stations “picpus” (line 6) and “Porte de Vincenne” (line 1) which permit to reach the center of Paris easily and quickly.

I stayed here a couple of weeks ago with my brother and parents, as we were in Paris to celebrate my Mum's birthday. We had a really lovely stay - The Allegro a very smart, contemporary hotel in a nice, quiet location very well placed for the Metro straight into town.
Our rooms were all of an extremely high standard, and were spotlessly clean and with excellent bathrooms. The power shower was excellent after a day of walking, and the bed was akin to sleeping on a cloud ..... I have not had a better nights sleep in ages!
The staff, without exception, were all lovely - extremely friendly, professional and welcoming. I would throroughly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting this beautiful city ..... and anyone staying here MUST pay a visit to the fantastic Le Picolin restaurant around the corner!
Thank you all for a very special stay!
