“Not 4 star but still good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

I booked this hotel for 2 reasons. The first being that it was an EasyJet Holidays' special and the good TripAdvisor rating. There are may pros and cons for this hotel.

Pros:
Efficient and friendly staff who speak good English.
Clean bedroom (with kettle, coffee and tea) and bathroom (always restocked with shampoo, etc.)
Location. On the map it looks a little of the beaten track but Picpus (4-5 minutes) and Nation (10 minutes) stations a good part of Paris was covered.
Internally quiet most of the time.
Small supermarket next to the hotel.

Cons.
The worst point was the awful air conditioning. It could not cope with the mid 20s temperature and, even if it had been effective, it was too noisy to use at night.
Even on the 6th floor the road noise was loud and persistent enough to prevent opening a window a night.

There were a number of restaurants and coffee shops near by but I did not try any of them.

The 2 big questions are: would I stay here again? If the price was low enough then possibly. Would I recommend the hotel? Yes if the price was right, but check to see if they have had the air con serviced.

A quiet, comfortable hotel. It was within a short walking distance to the Pipcus Underground station. A supermarket was just opposite the hotel, which was very handy, and plenty of cafes, bars and restaurants nearby. A nice small breakfast room.

Chers clients

Bien cordialement La direction

Travel in Europe has become expensive.... way too expensive for what you get.... It must just be me but how do the people living in England, France, Spain, Italy and most other in that area afford to eat out or travel with hotels and food so expensive... It cost Americans 30% more for a McDonalds burger there that it does here.... and it goes up from there... Everything in Europe is very expensive.... Hotels that are rated 3 star and cost $120 to $150 a night are not as nice as motels in America at $80 dollars a night.... We love Europe and the people.....but now retired it is becoming a luxury to vacation in Europe... Airfare r/t $1400 per person... Most hotels overrated, small and just a disappointment...

We have stayed in Paris in various areas before and it is always a problem to find an area were you do not feel 'unsafe' to walk around at night. This hotel is not like this. The area is 'clean by Paris standards' and the metro i one block away. there are some nice bistros around and the hotel offered everything we needed. The reception is tipical Parisian. Do not expect smiles all day long. Breakfast was excelent. Keep inmind this is Paris. If you want serious 4 star then you will pay for it. The rating might not be the best 4 starr , but it is still the best option I could find.

Room Tip: The two rooms we had was one with a bath and one with a shower only. So make sure you ask before the...

We came to have 3 night short break in Paris after 3 nights in London. Although recently refurbished the rooms are small and the bathroom so tiny using it required careful negotiation between door, toilet and bath. The bath was deep with an overhead shower and was very difficult to get into and out of safely. Anyone with any limited mobility Issues would struggle. Comfy twin beds. Air conditioning that was very inadequate so room always stuffy making for restless nights. We opted for room only and not for breakfast at an additional €13 per person per night. Room service was a major let down. On our first night they failed to change towels, provide clean cups and saucers or replenish tea and coffee. When we went to reception they did not offer to bring them up but simply thrust them into our hands with barely An apology. On the second night we had no room service at all and we only had the room cleaned at all when we raised the issue. We were asked to wait in the lounge for 25 minutes while this was done but again no offer of a drink of tea or coffee or even a glass of water while we waited and once in the room some of our clothes were on the floor (not where we had left them) and not all aspects of the job had been done. We were offered no compensation in money or in kind for the inconvenience. The receptionist blamed the new cleaner but I blame the hotel who clearly had neither trained nor properly supervised their staff. The hotel is advertised as close to Nation Metro but I truth it's a fair walk and a long haul with luggage. We discovered that you could catch a number 56 Bus from Gare du Nord to the street by the hotel so much more convenient coming home again. In our opinion not a true 4 star experience.

Room Tip: If you like spacious accommodation this hotel would disappoint
