“It'll do ... Almost”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed April 12, 2012 via mobile

Stayed one night in a room that was uninspiring, but clean. Quick business trip and I got part of what I needed: a comfortable bed, wifi that was slow but OK to access mails, water that was just warm enough in the morning to take a (very quick) shower. Would not take my wife here for a romantic weekend!
Location is good and central, and quite quiet for Paris. Went across the street to the local Bistro for breakfast and a much faster wifi connection. Service was average - which in Paris is probably quite good!

Hotel is kinda small but their service is exceptional. All the staff at the hotel were friendly. Malek and Aldo were very helpful and approachable. You can ask their help to recommend you place to visit, they can even help to get you cheaper tour package. The hotel room is very nice and although the building looks like old building, don't get surprised when you get into the room that have a modern touch. Walking distance to the Metro station and also the main train station to go to London. We enjoyed our stay over there very much. Highly recommended to anyone looking for a nice place to stay at the middle of Paris city.

Dear Sir,

We would like to thank you for your time taken to write such a nice comments to our hotel and for recommending our hotel as a place to stay in Paris.

We are very happy that you like our hotel as well as our services. Our staff will always be there to help you and to recommend you some places to visit. You are right, the distance to the metro Cadet (line 7) is only 2-3 minutes walk from the hotel. From the Gare du Nord (Nord train station) is only 10-15 minutes walk to the hotel.

Thank you again and we hope to see you soon.

Kind regards,
The Management

It is a very average hotel. Despite a great location it lacks any charm of Paris hotels. By no means it is a three star hotel. I stayed at the hotels in Paris rated two stars that were of a lot better quality. The rooms are shabby and old, the beds are quite dirty. The front of the hotel is under reconstruction until mid-2012, so guests can hear all the noise from the constant work. Plus, there was a lot of dust from construction during our stay, and guests were recommended not to open windows. Air conditioner seems not to be working for heat, and despite all our efforts would only stream cold air. A three person "suite" turned out to be a tiny room on the top floor with a small side couch. The only positive thing about this place is friendly staff.

What a total rip-off - avoid this place - it has nothing to offer, really. Stayed on 3rd floor , and after negotiating the grubby stairs, the heart sank when entering the room. OK, it's not a total nightmare, but 2 star would be about right... just. The air-con leaked water all over the carpet that left the room with that lovely smell of dankness; the bathroom was a bit like a Twister game to negotiate the porcelain; the carpet... well, keep your shoes on; the breakfast a display of very basic fare with a sign asking you to 'not takeaway', mmmm - I was so tempted!

And the traffic noise was a nightmare - like hearing the start of a Grand Prix every 1 minute due to the traffic lights outside (bear in mind the window had to be open to let fresh air in).

Go elsewhere - sleep at Gare Du Nord - anything..... and that's the best bit - you can dream of the escape...

Stayed here 4 nights in early July. Whilst the position is great, staff were fine, our rooms were only just cleaned, bathroom was very small. The TV was restricted in volume and they had limited it and would not increase, even tho we could not hear them and there were very few channels. I do believe paris has a lot of venues that are small so this one is no different, I believe there would be better value in the same area.
The coffee shop immediately opposite was a rip-off, there were a couple of good restaurant/bars right behind the place. Breakfast was in the dungeon, a fire hazard and was quite poor, even tho it did provide the essentials.

I stayed at this hotel from the 27 June till 3 July 2011, six wonderful days full of nice memories of Paris. The room was spacious and the breakfast was reasonable, but certainly a healthy one, with yogurt, eggs, fresh milk and orange juice, daily. The room was cleaned everyday. The location was fantastic, close to the metro station and the galleries Lafayette for shopping. There was also carrefour and a supermarket nearby for groceries. There were lots of restaurants within the vicinity. We had a conference at Millineum CDG, and was able to use the Rossy bus, which stops at the Opera for only 9 Euro. There were some renovations for a soon to open Malaysian restaurant, according to friendly Chef Rizal that I met during my stay over there. The hotel also arranged for our car ride back to Orly airport at a very modest fee of 37 euro. I miss the friendly face of Malek and Jamal at the reception desk and my warmest appreciation to the manager Aldo Barlian for all the warm hospitality and wonderful service during my stay. Will not hesitate to return to this hotel again when I am back in Paris. A true Malaysian Hospitality!!!

Room Tip: Ask for the room facing the main road cos' the view is fantastic, a true Parisian architecture...

We spent four days in this hotel, in room 406, which was very, very small but comfortable and elegant. The bathroom was very small, too, but functional and clean. In the room we had television, air-conditioned, hair-drier, safe and clean towel every day. The hotel, under renovation, has a real strategic position, near underground stop Cadet, next to a bank and a McDonald's. Night sleeping has been very quiet. Cosmpolitan staff has been kind and smily. A real convenient stay for short holidays!
