My colleague and I stayed at the Eiffel Capitol Hotel during a business trip in February. I had made sure to check reviews online before picking a hotel (THANK YOU TRIPADVISOR! You haven't failed me yet!). We wanted a hotel that was centrally located, within the firm's budget and yet capable of meeting one's needs (basic comfort, central, etc) and that was exactly what we got with Eiffel Capitol.
We arrived early and were checked in quickly and easily. The hotel staff were warm and helpful. Yan who was at the front desk on a number of days while we were there was most especially wonderful. He gave us rooms in the quite wing of the hotel, directions when (and as many times as) we needed it, maps, interpretations, etc. He was always ready to assist and was very warm too. (THANK YOU YAN!!).
The rooms aren't massive but not claustrophobic either (I was told the rooms in Paris hotels especially around the Eiffel Tower were not exactly huge, so at least that gave us a heads up!). We had enough space to do what we needed to and place all we needed to place, with wifi that worked (and fast too) in the rooms, lobby, etc, multiple sockets, huge windows and beautiful lighting (natural and artificial - a complaint a number of our business associates had about hotels they had stayed in was the poor lighting).
The breakfast buffet was quite basic (cereal, bread/pastry types, eggs, sausages, bacon, yogurt, tea/coffee, juice, etc) but serves one's immediate needs. Location was quite central; a short walk to the Eiffel tower, transport points, shops for basic necessities and cafes/restaurants (chinese, french, basic, Lebanese, etc). So while the cafe in house was small and basic, a short walk out the door and you would be faced with multiple options as to what and where to eat.
Though the walls were not as thick, being out most of the time this was not a problem at all. Our nights were also quite enjoyable. I would say that, apart from the random guest/bunch who may perhaps go berserk screaming down the hall or just being plain noisy, the rooms were relatively peaceful and you wouldn't ordinarily be disturbed by sounds next door. Paris is a beautiful place anyways so who would want to stay in doors!
In summary, we did enjoy our stay and plan to stay there again when next work takes us to Paris! Xx Hotel Capitol! Xx Yan!
Ask for rooms in the quite side when checking in. Our rooms were on the second floor and it was quit...
