“Nice hotel but disappointing service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 13, 2014

I stayed at the Baltimore for 1 night with my daughter as a little mother daughter getaway. I booked via the eurostar sight as a package but once booked emailed the hotel to let tim know i was a Le Club gold member - you are supposed to get "special" treatment…….
The hotel itself is in a great location, you can walk to many sights - but if you want more hustle and bustle, and more unique shops I think you need to be on the other side of town. But we had plans to see the Eiffle tower so chose this location. On arrival we were given a room right by the lift and the safe was also broken. I went down to let them know i was disappointed to be place right by the life as i wanted a good sleep without disruption. The girl at the front desk said although they were fully booked she had one other room which she could move me to, however, it was on the first floor. I said, ok as i expressed that i really didn't want to be by the lift. As we had dinner plans, the girl said they would have our suitcases moved and gave me the new keys. We arrived back around 11 that night and went to the room and to my utter disbelief it was right next to the service life and half the size of the other room. I can't tell you how disappointed i was and from about 5 in the morning we were woken by the constant banging of trollies and the sound of the life. Make sure you don't get room 115! The room itself was clean, but room 115 had a tiny bath room with no space for anything other than the hotel soap. The bed was comfortable enough. I was also disappointed that there was no hair dryer at all - no even a tiny one - so check that before you decide to wash your hair! The next morning I did mention my disappointment to the staff at the front desk and the gentleman did say he would let the girl know - however, latter that day when she was back at the front desk she didn't even bat an eyelid to apologise for giving us probably the worst room in the place! All she had to do was tell me that the only other room they had was next to the service lift and i would have stayed in the room that we had been originally given. The few hours sleep that i got meant that the following day wasn't as enjoyable as i had hoped.

Room Tip: request not to be near the lifts!

This is very good hotel with pergect location. Its very close to main sightseeing places: you go to the right side and enjoy Eiffel tower, you go to the left side and see Arc de Triomphe and walk along Champs-Elysees. And if you need metro - its close as well. There are few cute restaurants around and even small shop where u can buy almost everything)) Rooms are clean. Staff is smiling. No complains. ..and yes, nice bed there ;)

Initially shown a tiny garret room but were moved to a third-floor room of acceptable size without fuss. Film crews filled the lobby and side rooms and preoccupied the staff during our visit. Fire alarm at 1 am and we discovered only two very junior, new staff on duty, manager on leave and they were untrained, bewildered and unsupported. They were consumed with the priority of protecting the senior management and would not talk to the police when, in desperation to understand what was going on, a guest phoned emergency services because the staff were refusing to do so. A manager arrived about an hour later but the source of the alarm was never communicated to us. Very unsettling night and uncomfortable, expensive stay.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for your comments.

I am terribly sorry to learn of your disappointment.

During the night with the fire alarm, I came immediately after the phone call of my Night Manager. The alarm was due by a guest who pushed the fire alarm button in the coridor.
The Night Manager check immediately and during all the night the area of the button, but there was nothing.

Please accpet my most sincere apologies, and I hope that we will have the opportunity to welcome you here again.

Yours Sincrely,

Franck Poncey

Stayed at the Baltimore Paris with my wife.... the rooms are small but adequate....the hotel is located in a nice locality and at a walkable distance from Champ Elysee .... The hop on hop off bus stop is just outside the hotel and the metro entrance is close too...

We didn't eat at the hotel as we were more interested in hitting all the preplanned restaurants that we had planned.

We stayed here after a 3 week tour of Europe and we needed somewhere comfortable. We found the hotel wonderful...amenities beautiful but we found the size of the room very small! We had 2 suitcases and hand luggage after 2 months on the road the restricted space was dissapointing - this is why only a rating of 4. I must say the staff were polite and obliging. Close to the Metro, Trocadero and Eifel Tower. There are also 4 Self Serve laundrettes within walking distance of the hotel...2 in the street behind.

Room Tip: Ask for a shower without a bath if you have issues climbing in and out of the bath to shower.

I stayed at the Baltimore again as it is in a great location and as a boutique hotel is friendly and caring - you are not just another guest occupying a myriad of rooms in a characterless environment, you are made to feel special with hotel staff, from front desk to housekeeping, welcoming you and their attention to detail is refreshing. I did not have a kettle in my room for my English tea :-) but it was no trouble for the staff to provide one. Great all round experience. I'll be back!

Room Tip: Away from elevators is best

No complaints with this joint. Very well located - The Eiffel Tower is a 10minute walk around the corner and there's a choice of Metros within 5 minutes. You can reach La Louvre and Notre Dame easily. We reached the hotel having arrived on Eurostar. It took us about 20mins by taxi and only cost EUR15.
Hotel itself has a small and intimate feel. Our basic room, though not particularly spacious, was well appointed with a good bathroom. Friendly staff who had useful tips about what to see and were happy to help with restaurant bookings etc..
