My husband and I have stayed at this hotel 10 times - it has not changed in the impecable service that you receive. They know the finest restaurants and also the hidden gems and can always get you a reservation. The rooms are traditionally European small and beautifully decorated. Incredibly quiet and romantic, it is an easy walk to a lot of places, taxis are familiar with the location and the concierge staff is one lof the finest in the world. Good restaurants are within walking distance and all of the "sites" are not too far - easy for a long walk or a very short taxi ride. I will always stay here and recommend it to all of my traveling friends. Our last visit, we brought another couple who were new to Paris and they loved the experience, the hotel, and the great staff. We were there during Bastille Day and it was quite a magnificent experience. Can't wait to go back to my favorite city and my very favorite hotel in the world.

This hotel is superb.
1. It is a short walk from Rue St Honore where one finds every shop worth knowing including Hermes HQ.The Madelaine is similarly close.
2.Despite 1 it is tranquil for it is surrounded by large Government offices.
3.Bedrooms are immaculate and period stlish with fabric covered walls, crisp bed linen and a fine bathroom containing Fragonard toiletries.
4.At the St Augustin end of the street 2 minutes away is a large Monoprix supermarket with a bakery .
5.The hotel bar is elegant but expensive. Lovely home made crisps and big olives though.
6.Staff were charming . Noteworthy was the black lady who checked me in and was full of humour.The senior concierge ( the number one was on holiday ) was a genius. Ask him for a restaurant table or directions to Versaille and it was delivered! I weas so impressed i gave him my best pen (as well as a tip ).
7.I could not find fault and nor did i want to.

I LIKED: central location (close to Champs Elysees, but 15 minutes walk and in a narrow street), cosy, very good chef, good breakfast, nice lobby and bar, free internet (bravo!) in the rooms, nice staff, very helpful and friendly guy in the meeting rooms area
I DIDN'T LIKE: worn out carpets, paintings..., very small rooms (true for Paris in general), overheated, stuffy (you keep waking up at night to open and close windows (automatic ventilation is not efficient), old fashion restaurant (it feels like being back at the turn of the 19/20th centuries), and not the kind of place to have a simple meal (salad, ...)...it know it is supposed to be very 'French', but I don't like that type of atmosphere, not suitable for business meetings unless you are just a few (small rooms, overheated or ice cold...you keep disturbing technical service to adjust the temperature, no space on walls to affix posters, etc.)
CONCLUSIONS: if you are looking for a hotel close to Champs Elysees, with a cosy, slightly old fashioned atmosphere and are after the 'French' clichés of supposedly Paris chic, this is an interesting alternative, especially if you are on a shopping spree

The room was small - so small that I constantly had to reshuffle things. But that is the only negative thing I have to say about this place. The location is good, the staff is extremely helpful, the lobby, bar and restaurant are cozy and elegant, and the food in the restaurant is really very good.
