The area around the hotel is lovely - lots of interesting little shops. The location is also good - it's an easy walk up to Montmartre and down to the Seine. Our room was clean and quiet; breakfast was tasty; staff were friendly. All in all, a perfect base for visiting Paris.
Tres Bien! Our French may not be too good but we know what we like! Our first accomodation experience in Europe and we weren't disappointed. The hotel is in a great position, only 10 minutes walk from Montemarte/Moulin Rouge (what a buzzz at night) and the beautiful Sacre Couer. The local train station, St George, is only 3 minutes walk, and the Gard Du Nord is walkable also. Restaurants and cafes abound, all with a safe neighbourhood flavour, not touristy or overpriced. We love walking, and the walk to Notre Dame took 2hours through some great neighbourhoods. The Louvre is closer! The La Fayette historic shopping centre is just down the road, as is the Opera House. The hotel is cute, wonderful chic foyer, and the room was (we understand) typically small, but chic again, and the bathroom modern and sparkling. The staff are friendly and informative. The breakfast was adequate and tasty in a vaulted "Basement" room. The little courtyard is a lovely green space to relax in. When we come back to Paris, we will stay here - what greater recommendation could we give.
The hotel was just as described - clean and quiet with friendly staff. We had a twin-bedded room with a small kitchenette and had taken a kettle with us for early morning tea so were very happy with the facilities. An extra socket would have been helpful as we both wanted to charge up our phones and there was only one unused socket in the room.
It's near the St George metro station so everywhere is easily accessible.
We were ripped off by the taxi driver from the station though - he charged us 80 euros for the short drive - so we walked back to the station when we went home!
Just up the road from the hotel is an excellent restaurant - Le Charlaine, 23 Rue Chauzel. Ideal if you don't want to travel far (it was pouring down the night we went there)
We'd definitely use this hotel again.
The hotel staff couldn’t be nicer, they were extremely helpful and kind. They even took time to teach us helpful French phrases. The entire place was immaculate, our room was cleaned thoroughly every day. The hotel is conveniently located near Saint-Georges metro station, so it is easy to get around Paris without having to endure the traffic or noise. The street is very quiet, with numerous neighborhood stores located nearby. I would definitely stay there again, particularly considering the reasonable price.
