We stayed here for three nights, and were very disappointed with the check in. First, we did book through priceline. However, this has never been a problem for us...here the hotel checkin said that we could expect less service (a twin bedded room when we had specifically corresponded by email and confirmed that we were traveling as a couple and wanted a larger bed than a twin). It was a very big and upsetting deal to get a room with a double bed. I had to ask to speak to the manager before the front desk staff decided to do anything about our request. I found them snotty and rude and it couloured our perception of the hotel.
The hotel is expensive (all of the room service, etc. For example, we used the internet for a very short time to send a message home and had to pay a significant amount, very different from other hotels where the business centres provide internet free of charge or at a low rate). We were also disappointed that the location is not easily accessible to the main tourist sights in Paris. We had to walk to the train station/metro (admittedly fairly close) to get there past homeless people, and a strong and overriding smell of urine on the street. We did not feel safe in this neighbourhood at night.
The room was run down and shabby around the edges, definitely not a four star hotel. We stayed at four other properties while in Europe, and this was the most disappointing. Next time, we would book in a different hotel (one closer to the downtown area, and one with a better quality of service and facilities).
